Evolv DNA200

Saw the Field Of Vapor YouTube video of this earlier. Reading the comments it appears to be running at >11v so a nice big box with plenty of batteries would appear to be in order ;)

Yeah, Mike Vapes shared this. The Triple 18650 means it can push more than 200w. Unregulated, with HE4s they can chuck a massive ~750w safely (I wouldn't advise it though), so regulated you're pretty good with the 200w

like the sound of being able to tweak the software hopefully you will be able to do more than just change logos. not sure abought the 200w just don't use that much power hopefully there will be single battery lower watts and the same software

Its not often i am pessimistic, but I dislike evolve. I'd love to get excited about this one, but I don't trust there 40w boards....so to trust a 200w chip of theirs is unthinkable right now.

However, i'd like to be proven wrong. Definitely won't be an early adopter of this, and would have to be pretty special for me to (begrudgingly) hand them any money.

Guess they're playing catch up now, and backtracking on previous 'mission statements'. :P

I imagine a lot of people are going to feel the same, and wait for the feedback to come in from non evolv "fanboys" before they consider one. As a newish vaper I wouldnt currently consider an elvolv just because of all the negative feedback from the dna40, But, I certainly wouldnt rule anything out for future purchases when they have been out in the market for a few months.

I think you hit the nail right on the head

So far from my own personal experience

1. DNA40 fry itself
2. DNA40 Matrix screen glitch
3. DNA40 battery draining overnight

My only positive with the DNA40 is a first batch board that is still going strong since last year November
and they where suppose ro be the worst ones for glitches.

I for one will not be buying one of these pricey looking DNA200 boards until the long term reports come out

Sad ...... but I was a Evolv fanboy :(

I'm still wary of it, the fact that you can go into the programming appeals to me. I'll probably get my hands on one to see how they fair, but, honestly, after mulling it over, I still prefer my YiHi boards.

Evolv have reckoned they wouldn't get into the wattage race, looks like they've realised that they're getting left behind. The customisation looks a good touch though, just hope they're more reliable than the 40's

I think Evolv realised pretty quickly after the DNA40 release fiasco that they were getting left behind, especially when Yihi announced the SX350J. I'm sure Evolv thought that they had as long as 12 months before anyone else could release a reliable Temperature controlled board - Instead Yihi were right on their heels with a tempereature controlled version of an already proven and popular chipset. It's my suspicion that's the reason they didn't do much more than tweak the DNA40 to make it more stable. They were already planning the next evolution in there product line - after all lets face it most of the newer boards are firmware upgradeable so if they didnt do that they were going to be left behind...

Evolv made a major mistake to believe that they could be the tail that wags the dog. They tried to tell vapers that TC was only applicable to nickel, they tried to tell us that 40W was more than enough. Then they fucked up with their own QA. They're well behind the curve now.

I'm not tech savvy, I'm flummoxed by what a vaper would want to change in the software on his device. What is it that you're expecting to see and amend?

Im guessing not too much, probally just means "firmware upgradable" aka "we fcked up last time and lets call it this to make it sound better".
