FA concentrates help.

Just a quick after thought, I have a ultrasonic cleaner that is heated think its worth me throwing it in there see if it helps? I never normally use it for anything but cleaning, I have seen bits on using them for steeping juice though.

Those recipes should be shake and vape and might actually diminish in flavour with time/steeping.

I have some ethyl maltol i could throw in see how that effects it. I got it from darkstar and the flavorings FA's website.

@Mr Numpty Right think i will stick not using the ultrasonic cheers.

I recently had a similar problem and found it was some VG concentrates which needed a breath before vaping , it's worth mixing a small batch without nicotine to see how harsh it is without .

So last night I made these two up again I changed nothing apart from upping the concentrate % slightly and wicked a fresh dripper this morning and.... No harsh throat it flavour is still a little dull for me but it's spot on apart from that! So what the hell is up with that? Same Nic, VG, PG and concentrates as before!

@mongoman did you breath the final mix or the actual concentrate mate? Was doing a bit of Google-Fu on this and a few people came back and said it can be down to not shaking up the concentrate before adding it to the mix.

Oh god, I hope everyone has made a juice without shaking the concentrate, as it's a great learning experience. I certainly have and now I actually shake all the concentrates I look out for a recipe before I start mixing, then shake each one again as I'm about to use it.
Ethyl maltol is great for fruits. Brings a depth of flavour to some that are bland without it. I use 1 or 2 drops per 10 mls with juices that need it but some people use considerably more. I saw one pro juice company recommend up to 2% for their one shot concentrates to bring them up to the level of their pre-made juices. A lot of FA's fruits seem to be naturally quite sweet mind you, which is odd as none of them have added sweeteners.
Please keep us updated on how your recipes evolve, especially when you feel you've nailed one.

Final mix and I never shake concentrates before which seems daft in hindsight especially VG ones .Gonna have a mixing session today and give them a good shake . Thanks .

Have you seen HiC's notes on FA concentrates @oinkerz? I've found them very useful. If you Google "Head in Clouds recipes" you can also learn a lot of useful info from the recipes he posts on A.N.Other forum.

I will check that out @Mr Numpty cheers for that! I forgot to mention i added 3 drops of Ethyl maltol per 10ml, think the melon recipe is just missing a little something so will have a play around more if my delivery turns up tomorrow.

Cheers for the help apes and i will be sure to keep you all updated on how it goes.

This might be a silly question... I'm still quite new to mixing my own, but I'm getting there.

Say you've done a test with a flavour at 5% and you like it. What do you then do when you want to make a liquid with more than one flavour in it - including the one you liked at 5% on its own?

Oh - I put that question in here because I'm mixing with FA flavours. It's probably the same for others I'm aware.
