The last delivery I had from Nomnomz contained a complimentary bottle of Cowboy Blend concentrate. I'm not a huge tobacco fan but mixed some up at 3% and although it's not too terrible, I'd like to add something to it to make it nicer.

So what do you guys add to your tobacco concs? I'm thinking maybe a bright/sharp fruit flavour.

I know that taste is subjective and all that but I also know that some things just don't go together. For instance, I can't imagine a custard flavour working with it. Or am I wrong?

Just looking for some beginner type advice as to what kinds of things will work before I set about it in the lab.

Thanks in advance [emoji1303]

Personally I go for nuts, bakeries, caramels, toffees and vanillas. Maybe a bit of chocolate. Fruits and tobaccos sound dark to me though, so maybe our tastebuds are not aligned :)

I would say you’re wrong on the custard, custard/cream tobacco blends can be very good. I love a custard cigar.

Quite a few of the tobacco concentrates (INW and FA) I like have fruity notes but it’s not always easy to pinpoint exactly what fruits they are. My suggestion would be something like plum, fig, dark and sweet fruits. Anything that tastes like dried fruit. Red currant, black currant can also work. But also lemon and honey sometimes work. Go very low with the fruit for starters, I find it’s usually only a wee note that’s needed, easy to overpower a tobacco with it.

Have you ever tried the INW smoked plum? (this is different from the tobacco and prunes)... Apparently the smoked plums are a delicacy in an area of poland. Similar to the roasted/smoked figs they eat somewhere in northern greece I suppose. I’ve never eaten these plums but the concentrate is excellent, goes well with tobacco too.

Smoked plum...???? That's a new one to me, sounds interesting!

Thank you for the suggestions.
I have some Inawera plum and sicilian lemon that I will try. I also have quite a bit of already mixed custards I could have a go with. So basically I could try anything? I thought that might be the case but was also wondering if there was anything that I'd most likely be wasting my time with due to incompatibility.

Not really, it depends on the tobacco concentrate though, they can vary quite a bit. Biscuit can work well too, I have FA cookie but I’m sure others would work. The INW plum is a good one, i’d start at 0.5% or even less and add more if you need to.

I agree with @MHL with the nut flavors. I add tobacco flavoring to my hazelnut juice ... Oh man talk about nice!! And believe it or not my main juice is hazelnut with a couple drops of Western and a lil sweet cream. We used to vape cowboy all the time and it's good with hazelnut and with a little vanilla and cookie flavor added. If you like sweets.

Looks like I'm going to have to mix up about 100ml of the stuff and try with a whole load of additives. If this works out I may venture further into tobacco flavours, although I couldn't tell a Burley from a Cavendish or whatever else is out there. I'm finding this to be a nice vape on the BB with a 1.2ohm coil in the vapeshell @ 15w.

Who'd have thought it?

That sounds like a plan @Banjostring . I’ve not tried the cowboy but if it’s a straightforward one it should be good for all sorts of additions.
