I've been taking things slowly on the recoiling journey. I started with the dripper, as it struck me as easier with a little more room to play with. Then got me a RBA that started out fine then just refused to play ball (I don't think it's my recoiling causing the problem, but after about 10 attempts to get it back up & running, it's been shelved for a while).
Being stuck at home with some sort of gastric flu thing since yesterday, but feeling a little brighter today, I decided to attempt a protank coil.

The Fleabag way inevitably involves steps others don't include, such as dropping and losing the bung and having to cannibalise another head to replace it - but generally very happy with the outcome.

I used .2 Kanthal and used 4 wraps around a (I think) 1.4mm screwdriver. I kept this on the coil until I'd rebunged etc then fed cotton wool through it. As it seemed possible that it might flood on its own, and thinking I could get the best of both worlds, I laid a flavour wick of 2mm silica on top.

Coil came out at 1.6ohm.

Popped it in a protank mini clone & filled up

Vapes SO well - loads of vapour and flavour's fantastic

Now to start on the other 15-20 I have rattling around

That's brilliant Fleabag  I bet you're very chuffed :)

What struck me when I started building coils was "why the hell did I worry about this, it's so easy!"

The LilyRed method also involves dropping stuff all over the floor beneath my desk and losing it - and swearing a lot :D

Thank you for this. You have just given me some incentive to re coil my protank.

Absolute beginner at this. Made my first coil for.kayfun clone last night instead of relying on a mate to build them all the time.

Protank and dripper next.....

I've sort of put myself into training lately by getting into smaller coils on the dripper. When I was using silica, I was using a needle & wrapping round that and the silica, and obviously trying to avoid wrapping too tights & strangling the wick. I started using cotton wool a couple of weeks ago, so have been able to wrap the coils around tiny screwdrivers & getting them really neat & small - so I felt ready for PT coils after a few of those.

I might set about recoiling the whole collection today - or at least those I've used before (I hate waste, so can't quite bear to throw away an unused wick & coil, even if they are virtually free to replace and so much better homemade).

My PT mini clone is vaping like my legit PT mini 2

Speaking of which - I wonder how easy it is to recoil a dual coil....

Well done I think 6 wraps will give u 2.4osh well done

Well, done about 12 & set them up in protanks, minis & evods. They seem to average around 1.7ohms, which suits me, as it means the should vape pretty well on the egos, should I want to go with a stealth set-up.
