Hi. Finally received my first RDA, the baby octopus and built a coil (first attempt) using .20 mm A1 Kanthal (4 wraps) and cotton. Came at 2.1 ohms and happy with it :noob: vaping very well too and good flavor reproduction too. The only challenge is that aft a few drags, the drip tip seems to heat up a bit. Is that because of the coil / posts touching the top cap or could it because its an inherent issue with the RDA I am using? Anybody else faced similar issues? Thanks in advance!

Nothing to worry about at all! If you're using the drip tip it came with, it's aluminium, so will heat up pretty bloody quickly!
I've got a 0.8 ohm in mine, and it's pretty much two drags then set down on the stock tip... Using a plastic one on it for now :P
It's mainly due to the fact the coil and the tip are so much closer! (and, if you think about it... It acts as only two pieces) :
Outside shell - Takes heat
Drip tip - Takes heat (Directly above coil, and also has the vapour drawn through it!)

Yes, the bottom does heat up as well, but you'll only feel that on very low ohms) :)

Thanks Raguri and clint ... Was wondering if I had done something wrong or was missing something! This thing is damn amazing.. Now can't wait to experiment more!

It seems to be the smaller the dripper, the hotter it gets. I have an igo s which is tiny and it gets hotter than any of my other atty's.

First thing I did when I finally got the dripper working was wait until my lips had healed before I swapped the driptip from a thing that was about an inch long to a 2-3 inch long driptip.I love the flavour off a dripper, but the need to constantly add more juice every few vapes gets on my tits so mine only gets used to test each batch of home-brewed juices.

ya... i had seen that being mentioned plenty of times.. so was prepared for the dripping.. do find it slightly annoying but the taste and the vapour are compensating enough... the thing is i can use it only at home.. cant carry it around! :(
