So, tried to make a box mod.

Didn't bother painting the box, could have been a waste of time if everything went wrong afterwards.

Dual parallel mosfet mod. Looks a bit shoddy inside but it all works. It was my first attempt at soldering, should hopefully do better next time.

Many thanks to ModMaker for having everything I needed, and thanks to a couple of you guys here for advice. You know who you are!

Very impressed as this is so far beyond my skill level!

Most importantly.... How does she vape?

Nice job, always more satisfying making your own.

If I was to give it any constructive criticism, I would say you might want to insulate that solder connection on the back of the master switch. You never can be too carful.

I kind of like the unpainted look btw.

Cheers, criticism is welcomed (as long as not just someone being a big meanie!)

Now that it's all in, how would you personally insulate the connections on the main switch? Do you think a good coating of hot glue would do it? Insulation tape? What's best?

You don't need to insulate the switch terminals it's overkill.

Nice job Toby mate :)

There's no right or wrong way really, what ever gives you a nice neat job. I would probably go with a small piece of insulation tape or maybe even a little piece of heat shrink if you can get it on the connection and you have some available.

It may not be completely necessary but it makes good practise to always insulate positive connections where possible. I had one of my custom hana's on the side with the back off while pottering about with one of my attys and accidentally dropped a piece of 26 gauge on it without realising, as luck (or bad luck) would have it it fell exactly across the the positive battery terminal and a small piece of exposed box, I noticed because I could smell the insulation of the battery starting to melt where the wire was laying, I grabbed it quick so thankfully there was no damage, but it just shows shit happens sometimes. This is why I say best to be safe the sorry.

Have you sealed up the mosfet in shrink tubing? If so remove it. These need to dissipate the heat they generate. They are expecting open air, not a little parka to keep them toasty. :) And add some holes in the bottom to aid in cooling.

Looks great! How big is it in comparison to say.... a Can of Beer or any other common Household Object?? Piccies please!!
Your Soldering skills look fine to me, I'm no expert but you WILL get Feedback from Modders here IF they are concerned.
I'd press the fire Button with no qualms from what I can see;)

Really? From what I could find on YouTube/other guides, heat shrinking the mosfet seemed to be the norm. I'll look into it though.

You mean a couple of vent holes for the batteries? Good point. With the fact it's such a large enclosure with a fair amount of empty space is it essential to have vent holes?

Many thanks for feedback all of you, it is appreciated.

Neat box. Soldering looks good. Did u sand the edges parallel. I like the unpainted look. Would look the dogs if u cud polish it. I'm gonna do an OKR.

What size magnets needed 4 the door? What 510 u using?
