Just wanted to share my first Clapton, How'd I do?

It's a twisted 24awg core with 28awg wrapped around, coil came out to 0.50 ohms with 6 wraps.
Did it vertical in my velocity clone because it wouldn't fit horizontal or slanted, probably should have wrapped it round something smaller.

Just made this too, not sure if it has a proper name or anything though (stapled?).
It's 24awg twisted with a spaced out 28awg Clapton following the twists, then two of them bits fused together with more 28awg.

As exciting as it is, make sure you keep it well juiced up as thats a very thick coil by which i mean from the cotton to the outside of the 28g is a long way - if you cane it on the wattage it'll not be too much fun as the outside of the coil will run dry fairly quickly.

Helixed is the word you're looking for bud, stapled is when ribbon is layered and used as the core of the wire.

Keep twiddling dude its all good fun. Its good you're excited by it.

Cheers for the heads up, I over drip something chronic though so I doubt it'll be a problem :)

Haven't quite mastered the wording yet so cheers for that, it is good fun though I must admit. Until you forget you dropped some little bits of wire and stand on them!

Nice....a smaller gauge wire on the outside will lower your ramp up times as the core wire has less to heat up, I use 36g on mine.

I've just got some 32 and 30 gauge in't post today so going to try again at the weekend I think.
