First real mech

Are the swirls in the metal, or a result of your efforts? Not saying it looks bad or anything, just curious.

Seems to be in the metal. If I work I get a polished finish with the same effect. Time will tell.

Was just asking, the finish looks good and it must've taken you ages to get the paint off the logo area with the lettering.

No. No your right to ask. The final polish is going to take time. Keeping a contured cylindrical object even and flat , as I do it, will be a challenge.

Have you come across Peek Polish? Bit easier to work than brasso but still messy AF.

I hadn't actually. Thanks.
I'm looking for alternatives to standard metal polish. But I'm thinking the unevenness of the object makes alternatives difficult to find. Well for a novice anyway.

Peek is a cream, you just apply it and buff it off again. Ebay has loads of it, the 100g offering is more cost effective than the 50g one.

Yeah just checked.
So, toothpaste, an ever reliable High quality polish I've used for years on glass and metals. Or Brasso/ Peek. Fingers and Hands say Brasso/ Peek , brain says. Don't be a baby, suck it up. And use Toothpaste. The end result, currently, is total inertia.

The beauty of ebay, shopping for the lazy twat, LOL

oh ffs. Asked for tooth paste got bought tooth gel. Ahh well. Gel won't polish.
Now, where's that bag of aquarium carbon and the mortar and pestle?
