First RTA problems

Did you get them heating evenly and from the centre out, and get rid of any hotspots before you wicked them? You could check steam engine for mod setting for those coils maybe?

Yeah they seemed to be heating nice and evenly and no hotspots from what I could tell but I'm only a newb at this. I will take pictures of the whole process later and upload them for inspection

I found using fancy kanthal coils didn't really work well for me at first. I had to run them pretty high to get much out of them and the vape was far too warm for me.

SS or ni80 coils might suit you better for now mate. The ramp up is quicker. You could also try some simple round wire to start off. Still gives a good vape.

Yeah the only reason I've been using fancy coils is pot luck lol I brought a pack of pre made coils and just picked the coils at random lol

Right ladies and gents as promised, this is my more recent and 3rd attempt lol.

Apologise that the pictures aren't in order, I did upload them in order but imgur obviously had other plans.



This time I used bog standard 0.85ohm Clapton Coils, My mod is giving a read out of 0.5ohms. The vapour experience appears better (Although when re-trying last night attempt it seemed alot better than the previous night).

The flavour is.. hmm different compared to my current WM02 coil in Gnome King tank although not bad but just not as strong.

As long as you comments are constructive be as harsh as you like/need, I'm not here to be cuddled I'm here to learn

Your coils need to be closer to the posts as it looks like the coils are going to be touching when you screw the deck back in. See blown up pic.
Could also do with a little more cotton in the coils.
Other than being lowered closer to the air holes and the above it looks okay.
