Welcome @R6liam
R6? Yammie?
Congrats on making the leap from lurker to poster. I’m not much on diy mixing but one of the guys will surely be along shortly to give some tips.

Hi@R6liam, I can't comment on that particular flavour and brand but I know with quite a lot of the flavours I try from many manufacturers I usually mix around 15% to get a pretty good flavour.
Some I can mix lower say 10% but others up to 20%.
Steeping longer will increase the flavour over time but your percentages do seem quite low to me.

Hi, not familiar with that but search shows that people get a good vanilla custard flavour from it from 3 to your 7%.
After DIYing myself for a few years I have found some flavours others rave about, which im sure for them is true, I get nothing out of.
For example, I'm done chasing an apple flavour, I can smell it from the concentrate, even taste it on my finger! But when vaped, nothing. Another, Flavour Art Vienna Cream, read so much about it but in a mix "what Vienna Cream?"
There are some things though also like using a high VG, very low PG that can virtually say goodbye to some flavours as they really rely on a decent PG % in the mix to carry it. Also, strangely some flavours dont do much till used in conjunction with another, Nic river Choc Candy tried on it's own to me or with say an icecream is blergh, weako, but mixed with some others it's "where on earth did that come from!?"
I don't know exactly why you can't get that flavour but those are some reasons why I know it can happen. When I get nothing from one these days I'll give it a go in small 15 ml tryers here and there but after a couple of goes I just bin it and move on to another.
Good luck mixing mate.

Hi @R6liam and welcome to the team.
I no longer mix diy juice and leave the creation of my shortfills to the flavour geniuses.
However, when I did mix my own custard juice, I remember that every custard recipe was a complex blend of several components. I doubt that you will ever find a decent custard recipe that used just one flavour .
The low percentages that you are using are most likely for that particular component when used in more complex recipes.
Check out the diy mixing section of the forum for decent custard recipes and remember that custards in particular need a long steep before they come to life.
Good luck with your mixing.

Thank you I don’t think lurking always helps, most of the time you don’t find the answers you want because people haven’t asked the questions your wanting to ask and yes I got a yammie r6 I always find myself using bike names usernames I find they make your usernames look cool although I probably should just keep them for bike forums I probably should of used something to do with vaping on here haha

You seem to have had the same problems as me and you do the same as me like test the flavour on your finger find you can taste it but when mixed you get nothing and I bought some real flavours sc once I bought loads of them to try and couldn’t taste any of them they just went into the bin I played around with them steeped them and I actually just left them at back of the cupboard for months and one day came back gave them another try and nothing so poured them out of the bottles and didn’t look back and I find people rave on about flavours like now people say how good flavour art premium custard is which I bought when it first came out and to me it was weak and taste of haribo milk bottles from the haribo super mix not custard to me so never gone back to that flavour either but ye everything you just said I can relate to haha

Ye I know custards need long steeping and there is some custards that are good on their own an they are cap v1 and inawera I find them strong enough to vape solo it might be different for you tho and I would agree they are better in recipes then they are solo
