Fogstar Charger Concept + What would you like to see?

What about a battery powered battery charger :2thumbsup:
Half saying it in jest but the other half of me would really appreciate the ability to charge 4 18650 4 or 5 times while away for a long weekend.

:anyone:

Maybe an external power bank addon that can hold the MAH required to charge 4-5 times? Like it!

Don't change the spring loaded clamps [emoji30]. They are fine the way they are and the only reason people tear wraps is sheer laziness. I imagine any other solution to the clamps would have a much higher rate of failures than spring loaded clamps.

How about rounding all the metal contacts, so there is no sharp sides to them?

Maybe, but personally I find it's not an issue if I remove the positive end of the battery and control how quickly the spring forces the clamp back. Takes 1 second instead of half a second.

Oh, and with all the suggestions I think this might be an expensive charger so more than likely won't sell anyway. I get that people want all these fancy additions to a standard charger but ultimately it charges cells the same as the others so the price would have to be at least similar to the others on the market.

There's no suggestions here that currently price it out of the market apart from the external power bank which would be optional - Everything else is included within the cost of the mold and PCB design. But quite right - were looking of a budget of around 30 pounds.

£30 seems reasonable for a well made, reliable 4 bay charger that can charge 4 cells at 1 amp. I do like the screen design mock up too so I'd probably be in at that price. Would your design include a 3 pin plug or would it be like the xtar chargers where the just give you a lead? Bit poor from xtar in my opinion...I like stuff where I can take it out the box and everything that's needed is there and ready.
