Great Website

This is a really silly question and I apologise in advance. I bought my Ego already made up and ready to go, so here goes, can I open the metal tube and just replace the battery? I've tried to unscrew it from the bottom but can't as not sure where it comes apart :)

No the ego can't be stripped and repaired unless you have electrical experience as the outer case is the outside of the battery the innards connect by two wires that are normally soldered into place, and for the price it's not worth trying to repair

No, you can't Petronica, unfortunately. You need a new eGo. If you start trying to take it apart you could short the battery and that is a VERY bad idea. The batteries in mods and used in vaping look like ordinary batteries, but they are lithium batteries which store a LOT of energy. If you short them, they release all of their stored energy in one go and that usually means a bang and fire. I don't want to scare you, but I think it's best to let you know what could happen, and let you avoid it, rather than be injured.

eGo's are a metal tube, with end cap, a small circuit board, button and metal socket to screw your cartomiser into. The battery sits inside. All in all, and eGo cost a few quid more to buy than a single lithium battery used in other mods, so they are designed to be "semi-disposable", in effect. When they stop holding a charge, it's time for a new one.

I don't know about that Mark. Unprotected batteries scare me! I must have been bitted by one when I was little! :18:
