Hi all

I just thjought id put some tanks and juice up on Gumtree but within a minute i had a message from "Majory" stating that the Ads had been reported

I replied "why" (knowing i was pushing my luck) and received this :-

GUMTREE POSTING RULES STATE NO POSTING OF VAPING LIQUIDS And the LAW has changed and set out below those changes include: - All e-cigarettes and e-liquids must be registered with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency before they can be sold - Refillable tanks for e-cigarettes must be no bigger than 2ml capacity - E-liquids cannot be sold in quantities greater than 10ml - Unless registered as a medicine the strength of nicotine in an E-liquid must not exceed 20mg/ml - The packaging of E-liquids must be child-resistant and tamper evident - Certain additives such as the stimulants caffeine and taurine or colourings are banned - New labelling requirements

Gumtree has always been really lapse on vaping gear but i suppose they had to clamp down eventually.

You could point out to them that the rules apply to business sellers not private sales. Unless they think that as they are the middle men they are classed as suippliers?

Yes see what they say but it's up to them what they allow, even if you are legally selling used equipment.

Was it used gear or new stuff you are flipping?

if it's new then I think the law applies. Gumtree don't know if people are 'business' or not. ... and technically if you bought cheap to sell on then that is 'business'

I maybe having a blond moment

I replied back :-
I have looked into this and the TPD rules that started on 20th May are for business sellers and no mention of private sales. Could you please explain why you are enforcing this on effective used goods being sold by a private sellers please? Thanks Mark

I then received :-
Because gumtree will not accept vaping liquid to be posted it is a banned item. Simple.

I then replied:-
Thats a very harsh tone to take. I am simply asking you to clarify. Do you work for Gumtree? So if the liquid is decanted into TPD compliant 10ml bottles then i am ok to advertise? Thanks

I feel i may have todrag this out for a while.

Anyone wanna help with some TPD replies?

One more from me for the hell of it

Hi again

I would also please ask you to clarify as you stated that " - E-liquids cannot be sold in quantities greater than 10ml"

But you then stated "it is a banned item. Simple."

Surely, this is a contradiction?

Once again , Could you please clarify?

Thank you.

Majory (not even sure is she is Gumtree born and inbred)

No as gumtree will not let you post e liquid or vaping liquid.

Reply from me:-

Hi But the above terms state "- E-liquids cannot be sold in quantities greater than 10ml" This gives false information that ELiquid can be sold in quantities less than 10ml Surely this should state that "eliquid/ejuice cannot be sold full stop". I feel that your rules should be clarified to help other users of Gumtree. Could you also please advise if you work for Gumtree as I feel you should send out a formal email advising of the GUMTREE POSTING RULES rather than just a 2 word "ads reported." Again this would help clarify Gumtrees position on the sales of Ejuice. Thanks

The really ironic thing is I have a cleito and Crown V2 up for sale and she hasnt mentioned these.
