It comes amid the chaos caused by the app, with people dubbing it "pingdemic". ​

London Tube line suspended after workers 'pinged'

The Metropolitan Tube line in London has been suspended after control room staff were told to self-isolate by the NHS Covid-19 app.

There will be no service on the line for the rest of the day, the London Underground said.

The Piccadilly and District lines will also be affected until 21:00 BST.

Richard Jones, London Underground's head of network operations, said: "We apologise to customers for the disruption. London Underground tickets will be accepted on local bus services."​

We had to pull service (in the same industry) at 8pm a couple of weeks ago for the exact same reason.

I have had 3 isolations. First one for symptoms, second for close contact although no ping. The third one was an app ping.

I take it as a positive. 10 days off on full pay I can catch up on my reading.
