Maybe trying to teach you to suck eggs here but are you using the auto juice control AND the chimney together? I find my magoo works tons better with both than with one or the other.

Not tried the auto juice yet but will do

Yeah same hear with the nautilus, its spot on when it works but to much faff when I just wanna sit with it and vape without undoing the juice control etc, then u forget to undo it and its a bastard to get the burn taste out the way

Yep think that was the main issue it was great then I forgotten to open the juice control then horrible burnt then opened a couple of turns a few Vapes later I'd flooded the thing

What's the best wick size to use if I'm going single coil and should I place wick in the other groove if only single coil?

Aah, these things flood like fook for me too. I use the auto juice with the chimney closed, fill and then open partially, then close (bubbles come out) and vape and open and vape and close (bubbles again) and vape. Usually a couple of times of doing that settles it down and I can open the chimney up a quarter of a turn at a time but usually have it half open for max flavour.

auto juice I always have open though, regardless of build

I use a 2mm wick, you can use either 2 or 3mm though. For a single coil I either do an X wick and single wrap or just pass the single wick diagonally across the air channel.

I did try this with 2mm Ekowool and it for some reason wouldnt screw down properly for me

found that with the auto juice open .when filling it just pours straight thru the fucking thing ,,now i got auto juice closed and i just leave the chimney open a few turn permenantly ..using a double coil 3 mm silica cross over with a short 3 mm spacer between wicks to stop shorts ..wicks fine no dry hits ..but i gotta get some 2.4 ohms res no res ..cos a i got 1.8 now and its a bit harsh in dual coil ..crackles like a powerline tho

I find that the 1.8ohm dual build is quite harsh on certain liquids which usually coincide to be my favourites too - anything with cooling properties usually.
