What's new

Hi all

Thanks for the warm welcome. Please excuse the format of my posts, enter doesn't seem to be working! Im currently using juice at 24mg/ml. Used less than 1ml today, don't seem to be getting the 'hit' I would from a cig but ive only had 3 stinkies today so im calling it a good start. ill haveto have a good read of the faqs etc and get my head around the world of vape.

Yeh have a good look around in the wiki.
Throat hit can often depend on your juice too, generally speaking the higher the pg content, the higher the throat hit. When starting out one of the biggest hurdles is finding what variable of this you like and of course, - flavour :D

HI and welcome to the planet.

It's actually quite common for a new vaper to get through about 1ml of e-liquid a day. It depends on how much you used to smoke, what your new vaping habits are (do you use it like you use to smoke or more) and what kind of equipment you use.

For example 2 extremes:

i) a cig-alike using refillable cartomisers or a mini clearomiser. A carto holds about 1ml of juice, when I first started vaping I was using up about a carto a day (I was a 20 a day smoker) You use less liquid because the power of the device isn't that great so less is turned into vapour and also when you switch your tastebuds are still effectively 'on strike' As they recover you taste better and if you develop a taste for some of the flavours in the e-liquids then you tend to vape them more often. Also if you're still having the odd cigarette as well then you have less need for nicotine from the e-cig so will vape it a little less.

Average use about 1ml a day, lets say that someone who's totally quit smoking and switched to vaping in this case will use 1.5ml a day.

compare that to:

ii) A Genesis RBA user running low resistance coil on a mechanical mod.

You've now got a much larger tank and a larger wick. The setup of the Genesis means that more juice is turned to vapour (giving a much fuller flavour and more throat hit) but also some of the juice isn't vaped it's 'sprayed' off the coil and collects under the top cap on the 'deck' which gets wiped up every so often, not much is wasted like this but it does add up. Mostly the increased juice use is down to a bigger hotter coil turning more of it into vapour. This user is likely to use a tank or more a day and the tanks hold around 3ml on average.

This user uses 4x as much e-liquid.

There's a whole range of amounts of liquid people use but a good rule of thumb is for a brand new vaper about 1ml a day or so is average, For an experienced user about 3-4ml a day is average and for an enthusiast user, could be lots more.

As you get used to vaping and you find a setup that you like that gives you the flavour and throat hit you prefer you'll probably settle down to using 3ml a day+

Nothing to do with vaping whatsoever.

They were originally designed for military use to give a smokescreen cover to enable military actions. They have since found to have their uses as a bug infestation cure and also for locating leaks in drains. The latter I am personally familiar with for over forty years.

However of late they have been manufactured by idiotic companies and bought by idiots as having some form of entertainment value??

Yesterday was a prime example of what happens when a complete dork gets his hands on an 'entertainment' smoke bomb. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...an-thrown-Tottenham-fan-game-Aston-Villa.html

Can you really get a nicotine headache - seriously I would like to know if this is possible
