Just a quick introduction on myself (ugh..rly?) and my motivations to join.
I'm Kim, i live in Belgium, turning 30 this year (yay, etc.) and have been a smoker for about 12 years or so.
I like making music, listening to music, PC hardware ..software too if my simplemind gets it, movies...and cats.. and beer, whiskey and rhum i guess.
Now, my motivations to switch from cigarettes to a vape device wasn't primarily because of health reasons...but fincancial reasons. I figured that €7 per maxi pack of Gauloises blue made me even more poor than i already am..ha. I love smoking, and i love gauloises. I rolled my own too, with a Drum/Marlboro tobacco mix, mostly with filtertips...again..the idea of 'damn premade cigs are getting so damn pricey, i'll just roll my own'...but i am lazy...and vain...so the whole rolling thing and yellow fingernails thing just didn't last.
My girlfriend is a smoker too, and likes to play games, through the gaming thing she saw more and more (especially US ) folks using or talking about vaping and how it was all just this ýet another bandwagon/hype-thing'...which i can't disagree with, but it intrigued me and i wondered if an investment like that would be worth it for me...i couldn't imagine these 'things' could give me what i like about smoking and at the same time reduce the longterm costs, health problems, smelly clothing after a night at friends' places with a whole bunch of smokers etc.
Anyway...i won't go on and on, basically i took the dive, ordered a cheaper starterkit from Kanger, their e-smart, because it's portable and..well, cheap. I've had this set since thursday and haven't smoked a cig since my first pull from this cheap, minuscule thing...i got a few 'tobacco emulating' liquids and so far (it hasn't been long) the liqua french pipe tobacco is real nice, it's not like a gauloise, of cpurse it isn't, but the hits are statisfying, 'only' 12 mg nic but it seems to be working...on a person that didn't really intend to completely quit smoking...with an entry level basic cheap starterkit....need i say more. I've only just begun...or something like that. Experiment with eliquids, upgrade...i'll admit i'm a bit of a gearhound when it comes to stuff that i like .....guitarsampspedalspchardware..you get the picture, i like things that can have a bit of a learning scale if you're interested enough and getting into diy stuff....
