Thought it was best to ask first, and obviously now bloody glad I did! I am a Nutter, and I know that Sony's can take a fair amount more than 30 amps for short bursts... so 0.07, is actually very safe... 0.04 however is pushing the boat out a bit but still safe for 3 second bursts .
The chromoly wire will be put away for something else... maybe a nice display piece or something... was thinking of making a stand with a working.coil acting as a light.. Then again if the fumes are that bad, maybe I should just throw

Aye ive had mine down to 0.04 with that 19g nichrome i had, just couldnt get the wicking right to get a good vape, you know with paypal there is a pay after delivery option with things bought from a lot of vendors and it gives you 2 weeks before it debits your account...... ebay has some wire, thats where i got the 19g nichrome from....

I thought that, until I sent an.email off to.Sony.and actually got their specs for amp ratings. I personally known a guy who's vaped a 0.02 build using.a.Sony and.is still alive. As long as you only do baby tokes, and wait for the battery to cool down before the next hit 0.04 is okay. I've done it once due to a short in a coil, and I'm still here

Think the volts probably sag to nowt at 200+ amps that's 800+ watts

Oh yeah, the drop was dire!!! He just did it to prove it COULD be done, but isn't recommended. He really was shitting himself when he fired it up. But, the battery took it. 0.04 is the lowest I'd go ever on a single battery... 0.07 is my safe zone.

(Theoretically) volt sag will rapidly reduce this as will destroying batt chemistry
Still a massive amount of energy
Poles of my design should carry about 300 amp without too much temp rise

Hence why I'm happy at 0.07 for now. You know exactly why I want to get a 0.04 build though...

And what duty cycle did they give for those pulse ratings. Once a minute, once an hour, once a lifetime? Without a duty cycle, the pulse figures are dangerously useless. The ignition point of a lithium ion cell is under 100C. The core of the cell is probably getting considerably hotter than that.

As the IRA used to say, we only have to be lucky once, you have to be lucky every time. It really is dangerously stupid pushing things that far. You are in the "have to be lucky every time" territory.

Get a box mod and a bunch of LiPo cells that are designed to take the load and are not confined in a metal tube. The vent holes in most mods are wildly inadequate for the purpose of safely releasing gases including hot hydrofluoric acid which is not nice stuff at all.

You really do not wish to discover the biological effects first hand - they are gruesome.
