How much nic to add

I'm just starting to make DIY juice and on the recipe calculator it says strength and I vape 0.3 now do I put 0.3 or 3 in the calculator because .4ml of nic seems not alot. Sorry if this has been asked before

If you're trying to emulate a 3mg bottle of juice I think you would put 1 x 18mg nic shot into 50ml of your juice go get 60ml of completed liquid.

If the calculator you are using uses a nicotine volume %, as opposed to mg/ml, then for the example MHL gave above the nicotine base strength is 1.8% and the target nicotine strength is 0.3%.

as mentioned a little more info needed.
how much juice are you intending to make. 50ml, 100ml or more.
what nicotine are you using. 10ml bottle nic shot at 18mg strength or something stronger.
which calculator are you using so we can take a look.

just for example
if you buy a 50ml shortfill zero nicotine = add 1 bottle of 18mg nic shot = the final mix will be 60ml at 3mg nic strength
double it up if its a 100ml shortfill = 2 nic shots = makes 120ml at 3mg strength

Sorry for not replying sooner. What I normally do is buy a 50ml bottle of premade juice an just add a 10ml 18mg nic shot but what I found online is a bottle of nic concentrate which is 7.2% so according to the calculator on here it said 0.4ml to add I just don't want to get it all wrong and mess up lol sorry I'm a complete newb

Are you still using the same premade juice? If so, it comes overconcentrated so you need an additional 10ml of VG or PG added to make it taste the way it is intended. So, you are mixing 60ml of juice. 60 ml of juice at 3mg/ml is 180mg. 180/72 = 2.5 so you need to add 7.5ml of VG or PG and 2.5ml of 7.2% nic to get to 3mg in a 60ml bottle.

no worries, we are always glad when people ask these sorts of quiestions as none are silly questions.

we can advise on it but its actually illegal to buy or sell to customers now thanks to TPD UK law and only for buisiness sales. as youve found out its still out there

to make 3mg using a 1.8mg nic shot it also has vg or vg and pg in it so using 7.2 you add less nicotine but it will also need some vg/pg adding to make it upto 10ml.

before i forget, 7.2 is very strong and must be handled carefully. wear gloves and whatever you do keep away from eye splashes.
