What's new

I need advice please!

Good bunch of advice here. While you may want to keep your current tank in case you like it later, in the first instance I'd go for an MTL tank. You can use it with your current mod, just lower the wattage to between 10w and 20w. I'd forget about temperature control initially too.

As mentioned above, all this is good advice from Experienced vapers who all help me quit after 47 years and i was a very heavy smoker, if i were you i would go down the Pod route with maybe some Nic Salts which are not as harsh on the throat with the right device, We have our very own resident Pod Queen @DeeDee who is always willing to help with Pod Mod advice. Oh and Welcome to the Planet.

As above really. A few options. You can add a mtl tank to your current mod. That will work just fine and something like the nautilus gt wouldn't look out of place size wise
https://www.vapeclub.co.uk/vape-tanks/aspire/nautilus-gt (other vendors equally as good in the recommendations above). Packs of replacement coils run between £7-£11 depending on the vendor.
this will be great but again way bigger than necessary.
You could buy a new smaller mod/tank kit aspire and innokin do great honest but to be honest I would go this simple
https://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/vaporesso-orca-solo-plus
£14 with a free liquid. The 0.8ohm coils work fine with 70%vg liquids they are simple to fill, easy to pocket, have three power levels and once set up you don't need to fiddle any more.
If I was to be quiting now I'd probably not move on from one of these as they just work and are cheaply replaced.

I should add, the flavour on these is as good if not better than anything coil wise that came before.
For mtl (mouth to lung) I'd generally recommend 50% vg juice maximum but as I say the above will cope with higher vg if your struggling with throat hit but as other's suggest I suspect that's a combination of nic level and high wattage. I think 12mg in a sub ohm dtl tank would rip my throat out.

What you probably need is a mtl tank if you’re a current smoker and have never vaped before and you can continue to use your mod/batteries as you’ve already paid for those. @Cloudstix have some good deals on the aspire nautilus atm::

£8 in rainbow https://www.cloudstix.com/electronic-cigarettes/cloudstix-hardware-clearance/aspirenautilus2

Updated nautilus 2s in blu or rainbow for £9.49 https://www.cloudstix.com/electronic-cigarettes/cloudstix-hardware-clearance/aspire-nautilus-2S-uk

they do free shipping over £15 so if you order some spare coils or eqliuid it won’t break the bank and will probably suit your needs much better.
