What's new

I was weak and glamorous green cigarette packets got me hooked on smoking

I think this woman makes right good sense. She's quite marvellous and just what we need in these trying times of national crisis, what with the credit crunch and the blitz and all. She'd have won the Boer War single-handed and is just the right size to fill a bomb-crater in perfectly. I'd give her Spanish Flu and send her to the trenches. With her help Gallipoli would have been over in a day. She's the one for me. What's she called? That's her, yes... can open jamjars with her eyelids. Napoleon would have stayed on Elba if she'd have been president. I'd vote for her, though I also voted for Y2K and look where that got us. If only all women were like her.

If I had snoz like that then my wilder ( sadly no more ) days of having to use rolled up pound note would have cost me a fortune!! So Henry must be rolling it in :)

You're old enough to remember a pound note???

OOO yes and a ten bob note,Half crown,Florin, shilling, six pence, thrup pence, half penny and even a farthing!!

It was a sad day when the pound note went , now when you go to the pub you end up with a pocket full of shrapnel instead of nice folding :)

I've heard some excuses in my time, but this is on a par with catching STDs from toilet seats and kissing girls in bikinis makes them pregnant... Utter nonsense

AND anyone that weak has no right to be in government

I remember the pound note and the half pence. I used to buy B&H for my mum when I was about 10 years old. I always got served. Then I started buying them for myself about 12 years old. I thought it was cool to smoke down by the garages with the older boys and share a can of cider between 6 or 7 of us. Those were the days ;)

Ah yes five Woodbines with five matches out of the machine and a bottle of "Old English" ... Happy Days

As much as I think this is bollocks, I did once buy a packet of amber leaf blonde, purely on the fact it was white... and looked pretty.
Still tasted like crap, but it looked nice :P
I am all for the plain boxes though, mainly as it'd confuse the hell out of people serving!

All except the florin and farthing for me. My pocket money once went up from thruppence to a tanner and I thought I was loaded. When grandad visited and me and my sis got half a crown we felt rich!
