What's new

If the ecig restrictions start will buying liquid nicotine stop?????

If they ban/restrict ecigs they going to make it illegal to purchase pure nicotine?
not neccessarily because pharmecutical grade nicotine has been around to purchase alot longer than ecigs. sure it may not be the easiest thing to get but its used for other purposes too.
of course as said that poses risks with diy'ers who are dabbling with something that dont treat with respect. ive never made or even attempted to make my own e liquid and tbh wouldnt even know where to start.
for instance i see here

http://www.rtsvapes.com/60_ml_of_60_mg_Flavorless_Nicotine_Liquid_p/120n.htm

now thats listed as 6%. now i normally vape 12mg juices which i think is 1.2%. so to get that from this bottle i would i assume need 5x the amount of pg/vg mix and flavour ( or to bring in total content up to 300 ml .
which should result i guess in a 1.2% based juice.. though i could be wayyyyy off the mark and end up poisoning myself.

really should look up mixing charts and the like and also the costs though its not something im greatly interested in getting into if things in the ecig world go pear shaped may have little choice

You need a license for anything over 75mg not 100mg. Legally you can't have pure nicotine without a license either. You get caught, there are a lot of fines involved, on top of bringing it into the country illegally and import/customs fines and charges...

Not worth it.

Nicotine is all ready covered under the poisons act so importing 75mg hasnt even been addressed by Art 18 in the TPD, which means we should still be able to, for the time being, bring it in for our mixing needs.

20mg is the proposed MG limit for ANY commerically available e-liquid. You wont get higher.

No refillable containers more than 10ml. Simple as.

and no more leaky tanks greater than 2 ml. Right back to the ole cartomiser tank system.

Can they police it? probably not. will they try, who knows!

There isnt a 2 tier system as far as general goods or medicalisation. The MHRA here in the UK says they will medicalize ecigs, end of, as the EU is letting individual member states decide, but the mHRA has no interest in a 2 tier system.

The two leading researchers have publicly claimed the EU has misinterpreted their work and that there is no justification for their limits in Art 18.

then it's definitely time to start stocking up on Snuff!!!!!!!

Grab yourself some mixing supplies and give it a go ... if a bimbo like me can do it, anyone can. ;)

I think a few of us have had a chequered past with substances , did the law stop us , NO, was it easy to buy , YES. This will just go the same direction if they go medical with ecigs so game on!!.

Edit: having thought about this a bit more * not always a good thing * , so if you are going to mix your own then you are going to be breaking the law the same as growing your own even if its for your own consumption. So 25 odd years ago I was doing the latter and now I am doing the former, I can feel the old tired rebel inside me starting to stir, welcome back :).

There is no way to police the actual contents of your home-brew e-liquid.The previous posters saying they'd have no idea how...a quick look on POTV Mixology section reveals all.

I thought I'd struggle mixing my own as I'm seriously shit @ maths, downloaded POTV juice calculator to my phone, input the base nicotine strength/PG,VG mix required, the wanted strength of final liquid, flavour strength % & hit calculate, instant readout of ML required to mix my juices. If a total muppet like me can type numbers on a phone & end up with some perfectly good juices, anyone can.I'm now waiting for delivery of the flavourings to try some experiments,as nicotine base is the most expensive of the ingredients...I'll just mix up flavours with PG/VG to taste the result before I think about adding the nicotine liquid.

i guess i really should look into it, i know one of the websites /vendors on here list a starter kit of nic, pg, vg etc. its the whole flavourings that concern me cos i know what i like and to be able to replicate them i know i'll end up disappointed and throw the juice away.. and currently with zero income thats not something i can afford to be doing.

When I want a new flavour, I mix very small zero nic batches. That way its not too bad if you don't like it.

All, good, because, after you have added (approx) 50% VG to your 2% PG nic base, than added at least 10% flavours you would end up with a 8-9mg juice.

Therefore nic base stronger than 2mg will have to be still available.

I pointed Chris Davies in teh direction of this on Twitter the other night, he had NO idea.

If you going to legislate on something, then you should know ALL about it FFS.

I can see liquid nicotine sales rocket just before the legislation comes in. It's making me consider plunging a few hundred quid into supplies and mixing my own liquids just so I can have a personal middle finger held up to ill-informed, out dated politicians.
