What's new

Is it as difficult as it seems?????

Mixing is great fun and not difficult even for a clutz like me!

A few tips I learnt the hard way:

When you're buying needles for your syringes get at least one wide diameter needle (a lower gauge I believe) as VG is thick and just doesn't play ball with thinner needles. I would suggest a particular gauge but I'm not sure myself as I'm still struggling with my thin one (hence this tip lol).

Also I would recommend getting needles that are reasonably long so you can easily suck the liquid out of bottles as they get emptier.

Have something to stand your small bottles in (your flavours and your bottle that you are making your liquid in) so they wont accidentally tip over during mixing.

Hope this helps :)
Heres my handy tip for the day! If you are using boots vg the lid is metal so just punch a small hole in the lid with a screwdriver, just big enough to fit the syringe (minus any needle). Then all you need to do is insert it, tip the bottle upside down and bobs your uncle! Easy to get the stuff out and you can get every last drop! Just remember to keep the lid :)

It truly is easier than reading a book(recipe book)as there are so few ingredients (flavouring/Nicotine base/Propylene Glycol/Vegetable Glycerin)and many mixing calculators on the internet, from POTV's own to e-juice-me-up.As stated above, you simply input the required strengths of flavour,PG/VG/Nicotine and hit calculate, then read off the amounts in millilitres required of each.

Hi

Ive been watching videos on diy and reading endless amounts of threads and it seems really messy and complicated, so my nooby question is:

is it as difficult as it seems??

simple answer no its harder thinking about it than it is doing it buddy

I take the needle off for VG

This is a great tip too. Sadly my VG bottle has a slim neck that stops my syringe getting in doh I've got my eye on some glass storage bottles soon though :)

Hi guys, you are all stars and tomorrow I'm going to start buying everything I need to start making me some e-liquid.

Thank you you again to each and every one of you for helping me pass the hurdle that has kept me from making my own.

Needles?

The only thing I use needles for is wrapping coils around them.

Take plunger off syringe, hold finger over the bottom, drip drops of flavour in and use syringe to measure out right amount. Another good tip is to put a strip of sellotape over the markings, that way they don't rub off.

Though the single bigeest rule of mixing is:

WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING YOU MIX

One day, you too will make the most amazing mix. One that's perfectly balanced, has multiple flavour layers so some get you on the inhale and some on the exhale, it'll steep out even better.

and you won't have a clue how you made it.

The best piece of equipment is a cheap ass notebook to write down all your recipes in.

no. It's not hard to mixup flavours at all. It is difficult to make something that's really really good, but most recipes you find posted make good starting points for you to tweak things to your own personal preferance.
