30 years ago I analysed water for a living. Yeah, you can detect lots of stuff - analytical chemistry has come a long way in the last 30 years. But whether the amounts are meaningful is altogether another matter. There are homeopathic levels of lots of things in tap water - that's why it gets chlorine or chloramine put in it.

Detection limits for things like cocaine are stupid low if you pull out all the stops - parts per billion. 1ppb is 1 milligram of cocaine per ton of water. Now we should drink a couple of litres a day and a typical dose of cocaine is around 15mg. So we need to consume 15 tons of water, 15,000 litres to take one dose of it. Good luck to you getting 15 tons of water into you in any reasonable time - you have maybe an hour.

There is SOMETHING in the water in bedfordshire that affects my parents, they live half the year in cyprus where they have their own fresh spring water and it tastes and feels amazing in a shower, but when they come back to England within two weeks their bellies bloat out. They did a test and food is not the culprit, its the water so now they only drink bottled water. but even that has its own added extras.

I am hoping it was a London supply. I will be upping my water intake. I mean I heard that coke is getting cheaper, but £25 / month? I'll never sleep or eat again!!!
Actually didn't the government complain about an obesity crisis? Maybe they need to up the dose!!

I regularly used to drink from the nearest beck when out walking the fells, until I'd stopped for a drink, consumed a pint or 2 and carried on, only to find the remains of a dead sheep lying in the beck a few hundred yards further up the beck. I could have just as easily gained a cocaine habit from drinking the water it seems.
