Is necessary to turn off Vaporesso when not in use?

I unscrew the atomisers enough so it can't read the resistance on my DNA mods at night - if it can't contact the positive pin, it has no way of sending power to the atty (and if I'm probably not going to be using it for a while I pull the batteries). After my auto-fire incident I don't trust any mod that is in eternal standby mode. Evolv may have a good reputation but they won't buy me somewhere to live if one of their mods torches my house.
Good shout - I have a pair of quick release drip tips on their way from China

Good. From all the answers I can see it's not pretty safe to let the the device always on, but I think that if it's in my desk and I'll use it regularly I can leave it on... Only turning it off overnight and when I'll carry in my pocket. I think I'll use it this way

My only concern here was damaging the device by misusing it, but if the main reason is to prevent accidents, I'm less worry of keeping it on in my desk and attended.

I woke up one morning to a hissing sound. The Wismec NC Luxotic Mod on my bedside table was autofiring. When I picked it up it was uncomfortably warm.

I pulled the batteries and took it outdoors. When I put the batteries back in it started auto-firing again - AND THE 10 SECOND CUT OFF DID NOT ACTIVATE - it continued firing until I pulled the batteries.

I stripped it to have a look (although I know nothing about circuitry) and could see nothing obvious like damaged/burnt components, but juice had got inside the mod and the circuit board was soaked in juice. I checked the batteries and they were fine, although they were in a suspiciously low state of charge (I think they were almost fully charged the night before but I couldn't be 100% sure - but they did feel hot when I pulled them from the mod.

I threw the mod, and after the auto firing experience I've got into the habit of turning mods off.

In over 5 years it has only happened to me once, but it was something that was bloody unsettling - personally I recommend you turn them off whenever you aren't using them or put one in your pocket.

Ooft that sounds scary, luckily I haven't had any battery issues for however many years i've been vaping. I did drop my pod mod in the bath about 2 months ago. Still working fine though, but your post just made me abit more wary about battery safety.

It's better to turn off your device when not in use. For preventing battery drainage and also for safety issues. I always turn off mine.
