It's never safer to smoke than to vape PUBLIC HEALTH ENGLAND

Loved the PH rep saying that Public Health had been supporting them, couldn't help coughing *bollocks*

Excellent commentary from Louise Ross, particularly addressing the issue of medicalisation vs consumer products.

Kind of expected that the PH rep would say that people should also use smoking cessation services.. there are jobs at stake in the stop smoking services industry. For some folk, his comments might well be true but there are also plenty of us that managed to cut out the middle man and get our 'expert advice' from forums such as POTV, UKV, AAEC, ECF etc.

I don't think it matters much where folk get advice, so long as it helps them to find a solution that works for them in keeping them off the analogs.

Much praise is due to Louise for blazing a trail and also for actually engaging with vapers and embracing THR rather than clinging to the tired old quit or die mantra... a lesson a lot of people in tobacco control/public health would do well to learn.

I like the fact she identified the difference between the licensed products and the vast range available as consumer products and it is that range of devices that help people get away from combustables. The rep was just being a rep. "Well, you would say that wouldn't you?" lol

Some good stuff in there.
