I seem to recall someone said there is a letter you can give to your employer explaing vaping, is that on the site somewhere?

Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section.

Moved this down to Health and Legal as Help n Feedback is for Forum realated issues :)

That's the one, thanks. I'm currently preparing something for my employer.
They've quickly responded with their "policy" which is completely ill informed as they say we cant vape as it is a fire hazard, hmmm....well if it's the lithium battery they're referring to then isn't that the Same type of battery in mobile phones, hearing aids etc?
But it sounds more "not thought through" than anything else.
They've also stated that if we want to use ecigs then we have to go to the smoking shelter with the smokers, now from what I have read this is illegal, forcing non smokers to breathe in smoke at the workplace. Again, not thought through and more knee jerk reaction than anything else.
Now I do understand that as employers they can enforce pretty much any (legal) rules they want, it's their premises. If they want us all to wear lederhosen then that's their rules (but they dont thankfully, not yet).
So do they have to provide a "vape area" or what?

Likewise! My employers have banned vaping from the building, however, there are no notices in place. What my bosses have said is that we can vape outside the building and we don't have to go to the smoking shelter to vape. We can simply just stand outside. A few non smokers have agreed with me by saying that the rules are flawed. I don't wish to cause any problems at my work but I certainly don't want to have to be made to stand outside every time I wish to take a draw on my ecig. Sometimes I only have 2 or 3 drags so it seems crazy to have to take the time to walk outside to do so. Vaping is nothing like smoking. There is a time limit on smoking a cigarette i.e your finished when there is nothing left to smoke. I couldn't stand and vape for 5 minutes solid like I did when I smoked my roll ups.

You could always ask them why it's banned it's just a device too help you give up smoking at the end of the day
