@StrawberryRipple quotes the number but he hasn't said where it comes from so it could be typo in his post or the source.
A quick search of BBC news implies the number should be 50% but I don't know if that's a corrected number or the wrong source.
Who the fuck knows?
I don't believe most of the figures on "here" apart from @Mawsley ,of course, because he's extremely trustworthy and not at all perverted.

I cut and pasted the info from the Evening Standard.
Couldn't find the article later so linked the one from the independent which read pretty much the same.
Went back to the independent later on and it had been edited.

Either way, both figures are 'made up' ... nobody actually knows. They are 'estimated to be' or 'our best guess at the moment' or 'all the indicators point towards it being' ... so I wouldn't worry about it, it's not going to change anything in a practical sense for us.

The media were saying 70% for a while.

I think there must be more to it .... what's the issue here? The fact she stopped to sit for a while, or the fact she had a cup of coffee? neither of those make any sense.

... plus there's plenty of other people around in that clip, even people filming it who aren't being nicked.

TBF until they explain exactly how it manages to transmit more efficiently than the previous strain I'll remain unconvinced it actually is.
Maybe tin foil but i suspect it may just be a rouse to stop people from kicking off that it has spread the way it has lately.

Also, scroll down the page and it says...

Well I think it’s 2% more infectious, and I got this information from Trevor. Trevor inscribed said information on a tree with a penknife, just underneath where he’d inscribed ‘Trevor 4 Mandy 4 eva’ encased in a lovingly crafted (and not at all artistic), heart.

And you know what? I believe Trevor more. And @Mawsley like @knome said - although I’d argue that @Mawsley is very, very perverted, but that may just be when he is looking at pictures of genetically modified cacti.
