Lots of unanswered questions for a newbie

No offence intended.
A Squonking set up means that the user "Injects" juice into an Atomiser, 510, 306 or self Build Bottom Fed Atomiser, but instead of waiting for the inevitable Dry Hit, the Vaper can "Squonk" when they feel the Vape becoming less satisfying!

Lol you're okay - read about squonking the other day (and of course did the obligatory snigger at the name).

Thanks for all your advice. I should say at this point like I said originally I'm planning to set myself up and learn via my own setup before hunting for equipment for the hubby, so first setups don't need to be blind friendly. I figure if I learn on my own it may open up more of a range for him if I'm not as much of a beginner when I start looking for his kit. Does that make any sense? I really appreciate all the ideas xx

Makes perfect sense to me :)

I think 2 people researching their Vaping options together is a great way to get into the Hobby side of Vaping, and it would be great to hear feedback on Kit from a VIP point of view. There must be Thousands of potential Vapers who also have Visual, and Physical impairments.
For example I was reading a thread by a Vaper who could only fully use one hand and he had managed to create a bit of kit so he could coil single handed!!!

It is actually something that has really interested me. There have been some reviews on these new coilers... Rob Ellis says he now always uses them because he has sausages for fingers. Todd said he likes them because he has big hands. I have small hands and done detail work most of my life, but i have arthritis and RSI and on some days it is just a pain to do. None of us are actually disabled as such, but stuff like this makes life that much easier.

There is another current thread where we are talking about mods getting stuck to attys. This is hard enough for able bodied people to deal with, if you are like me it is a major exercise. It couldn't be that hard for somebody to design a tool for it.

And of course this thread demonstrates that even if you are completely blind, you may have somebody with you that can overcome many of your problems for you (building the coils), which just means there are one or two lumps to iron out. It would be far too easy for people to say, just stick with the cartomisers. But when you think about it, i could take a cigarette out of a packet and light it in pitch black. I could roll a cigarette in pitch black. But at least 4 times a day I have to turn on a light to make sure the airhole I am lining up with my wick on my genesis is the open one.

There is still room for improvement in vaping.

I agree that improvement IS needed, but I think improvement and innovation will happen because of necessity rather than it being designed into products from the start!
If you get stuck taking MODs or Attys apart try Rubber Washing up gloves, and if that fails stick the offending items in the freezer for an hour then try with rubber gloves!

This is the thing, I have used rubber bands and it works a treat. But today it is cold and damp. If I tried to right now I wouldn't be able to. So I'd use rubber bands, pliers and a pump wrench... or wait till tomorrow.

I am pretty sure I could easily design a plastic handle with a rubber strap that would be small, cheap and do the job. Stuff like this is actually pretty basic.

I need to work on my vape kit. I have so much stuff... 90% of it rarely gets used, and it is a mess all over my desk. :P

I know what u mean about tidying Vape kit. I boiled 20 iClear 30s heads in Bicarb to clean and check them, I had 5 that were OK!

You guys are brilliant! Baz and I are each others fixers if that makes sense. His spine works, mine doesn't (and means I have neurological issues that make him my go to when I have the shakes/weak grip and need a tank unscrewing) and my eyes work so I do all that side of things. His ideal kit would be something totally sealable that didn't have visual markers for open and closed/air holes etc but palpable clicks, nobbles, things like that. For me an open build that isn't too faffy. He's obviously not a massive cloud chaser but he likes it to feel like a smoke. We're both flavour chasers. I like short fat dumpy cylinder mods (which double as easier for my hands in size and shape than box mods) whereas he's less bothered by what it looks like.

I'm happy to build for him if it gives him a better flavour than his nautilus mini, which is also driving us both nuts for being hard to unscrew (lots of running under hot taps while he gets frustrated about his eyes and I get frustrated by my hands). I don't want to add more complication to *his* experience but I don't mind it for me. If I can coil and wick a couple of tanks so he doesn't have to think about it on a weekend away playing footie for the VI team he plays for, that would make him less likely to go back to the fags. So a fully sealable tank with a capacity of about 4mls would be ideal for this as he could take one on the mod and one in his pocket or bag. It may not exist but if it does how cool would that be.

I use iClear 30s Tanks for work everyday. They are robust AND simple, only leak VERY occasionally and hold 3ish ml. i have found them the best "All Rounder" for me and managed to get a Stainless Steel Tank section to fit one for Tank Crackers. I also use a Nature Vape Midi Tank, but its Tank is glass, and a bit vulnerable tbh.
