going to give this a go, either as done in this thread or with a fat daddy 510... someone advise me on what type of wire I need and where to purchase it from?

make sure you don't bugger up the button when taking it apart - it catches and can come apart

think you'll have to use the ones in it cos they attach to the circuit and not a lot of room

I'm popping a fdv in one tomorrow night....if I beat you to it, I'll try take some pictures throughout the process.

I would guess a quick wap with the soldering iron and they should pull off the 510?!

The plan so far is to drill the hole out to 14 mm and keep the surface completely flush.

I sized up using it with the washer (22mm) and sitting it on top, as it would be easier....but due to the shape of the mvp top plate, with its recesses, it would look strange IMO.

Hopefully will be nice smooth and spring loaded when its finished!

+ drilling out 14mm hole using a step drill bit....bleeding hands and metal stuck in my skin.

+metric ton of super strong epoxy shiz to hold it in (currently drying)

Easier than me taking pics of what I have done so far. Only problem with recessing a 14mm is the housing of the switch comes out too far, so you can drill/grind through this or put it slightly off center.

I opted for the latter!
