Making MVP connector flush

Ok, I want to get rid of the sticking out connector from my MVP and put a new one inside. Like this:
MVP with Flush Mounted 510 connector

This is my shopping list so far:
510 connectors
Pliers my old ones seem to have disappeared from my tool box...
Epoxy
Torx screw driver set

I also need to get some wire, heat shrink and solder. I'm pretty sure I already have a soldering iron somewhere around the house.

What type of wire do I want for this? does it need to be a certain thickness or resistance?

What wire should I get?! Does it make any difference? I wanted to order all this crap today so I could work on it tomorrow, but ended up faffing about too much during the day. Gonna need to wait till Thursday now
