May I trouble you for some kit advice (MTL/tanks/leaks) please?

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping that perhaps some of you super knowledgeable lot can help me. I'm relatively new to vaping (have been dabbling on and off for a few months now) but one of the reasons that I can't completely make the switch from rollies to the vape is, I think, because of the problems that I have with my kit. So, I know that I MTL, I know what strength nic I prefer, and I am slowly learning what liquids I do and don't like (dear god, I have spent a fortune) but I'm struggling to find that perfect bit of kit, or maybe I am doing something wrong?

Firstly, whatever I use, I cannot seem to stop leaks. I've got three different set-ups, but they all leak like a mofo, for various reasons. So, it's probably me, right?

I have: Innokin T18e with prism tank (this just randomly leaks from the bottom of the tank whenever it feels like it)
Kroma-A Zenith (this leaks out of the air flow holes)

And I have just purchased the Innokin T20s (after my T18 leaked all over me while I was out and I lost my shit and threw more money at the problem) but I've just picked that up and the bottom of the pen is covered in liquid - can't see where that has leaked from. These are all decent tanks, right? Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Secondly, all three of these devices 'bubble' at me - which I find very disconcerting. I know other people who vape (though we are all quite new to this) and they don't seem to have to have this bubbly, noisy tank issue.

I'm also finding them really harsh to smoke at the moment, regardless of whether I use my 12mg liquid, or test with my partner's 3mg.

I'm thinking, given these issues are common across all my devices, the problem is me, but what am I doing so wrong?

Or, am I just not suited to these types of vapes and need something like a Pod? I know nothing about Pods at all, so any advice would be very gratefully recieved.

Many thanks for reading my whingy, whiney post!

Of those tanks I only have the T18, and I too find it harsh... it gives too much "throat hit" for me regardless of what juice I put in mine.

I know it is another tank, but I would recommend a Nautilus mini. So long as you stick with 50/50 juices the coils will last weeks and the flavour is great and even with 16mg juice you won't find it harsh.

As to what you are doing wrong ... it sounds like the coils are flooded from the way you describe the bubbling.. Probably due to over priming the coils when you first fill it. You only want to wet the cotton inside the coil to get them going... but if you have overprimed them the solution is to turn it upside down and blow with a cloth over the airholes.. you should blow the excess juice out and when you vape again it should stop the bubbling.

Thank you, Flower Power - most appreciated. I will check that tank out. would it fit on my existing kit bits, do you know?

Just tried it on the T18 and it works. It runs on a bit more power than I would normally use (8-11Watts) but it works. I think T18 and T20 work on about 13-14Watts power. The Kroma is variable voltage so should be fine.

Oh thank you for trying that for me! Very kind of you. I'll get one ordered. I really want to make the switch to vaping properly, so I don't mind spending what I need to to make this work for me. Thanks loads.

I'm just about to make an arse of myself trying to blow through this coil....

Well, I seem to have sorted the bubbling in the T20 - thank you. But now it's leaking from the bottom. A lot. Gaah.

It looks to be happening with all your tanks -
1 - Open airflow if it has one , put tissue round and blow. This will help clear overfill / unburnt juice
2 - Close airflow and suck without pressing button. This will help prime
3 - Dont overfill and dont wait till it`s empty to refill
4 - Use 50/50 juice.
