What material is the coil made off?

When you take the cotton wick out from the old coil, is it scorched or burnt. If you haven't you should watch some (more) clips of building and wicking for your RTA, perhaps there's something you've missed.

As @zouzounaki mentioned, you have to watch out for coil legs / leads.

Metal on coil deck getting darker! Is that just old eliquid that can be cleaned off?

I've tried rubbing off the dark spots from the metal but it looks like the metal is slightly discoloured from heat? will post up some pictures on my next build.

I think the coils are clapton? Sorry bit of a terminology noob when it comes to vaping

I think it may have been what phleabas mentioned - I continued to use the vape throughout the evening and the taste eventually disappeared - e-juice taste is coming through well now with no metallic taste.

They are kanthal, someone asked in the “questions about this product” section.

Just because someone said kanthal, they could still be nichrome, and some people can taste that.

The person who is selling them on amazon said kanthal though, not just someone. I’d tend to think they would know.
