I started vaping 4 years ago. I had my first migraine 3 months later. Gradually, over 4 years, I’ve developed Chronic Migraines. In the last 3 days I’ve completely stopped vaping because I think it’s responsible. It’s killing me not to vape, but if I have to quit I will. My question is what can I do, if anything? Can the vaping be 100 percent responsible for the migraines? I used the lowest dose, so I can’t go any lower and I always stayed hydrated.

Hi Liz and welcome to the forum, I can't see how vaping could be responsible if it took 3 months to have your first migraine, I would have thought if vaping would have caused a migraine it would start at the time you was vaping but I'm no doctor so my advice would be to go speak to your GP with your concerns and I'm sure they will be able to get to the bottom of what's causing them [emoji4]

Hi Liz and welcome to the planet.
As said a gp appointment is first thing.
How far between do these migraines occur.
Like above, if it was going to be a cause of vaping then it would of started as soon as you started vaping and not 3 months later.
Also what mod, tank, coil, wattage, juice, ratio VG/Pg, nic strength are you using. This will help others advise.

I'm not a doctor ethier but my guess would be it's the nicotine. I don't use nicotine but when I do for more a couple hits/puffs (what ever you want to call it) I get a headache.

Theres a headache and then there's a migraine. Totally different.
A headache with nausea is nic od and 30 mins break it should clear. This sounds different.

Hi @Liz M . Personally I think, if you are sure the vaping is relating to your migraines, using the lowest dose isn’t the best idea. If you use higher strength liquid, then you would need to vape substantially less. Since it seems very possible that it’s not nicotine causing this (assuming you used to smoke, and didn’t get migraines), and therefore some other constituent in the vapour, I think you would want to reduce the overall amount of vapour you consume, and increasing the nic strength would help with this.

I used to smoke around 40 a day and went straight to vaping without nic because of getting a headache and sore throat from vaping nic lol (Tried 3/6/12mg before giving up with it)

So many types of migraine and you'll need to see a professional to get to the problem. For years I suffered and was first told I was straining my eyes and that I needed reading glasses, it was only when I changed opticians and he tested my sight before and during a migraine that I discovered that I lost a whole line of sight during an attack and he referred me to a specialist who diagnosed me with optical migraine and for me it was caused through lack of sleep and no glasses would help or fix my problem.
For some, migraines are caused through diet, things like cheese and chocolate for alot of people so it could very well be an ingredient in the liquid, do you always vape the same juice? Similar flavours?

What about caffeine? Could that be a contributory factor?

Please see a medical professional, my own migraines were caused by caffeine, 5 to six mugs in a day and that took a visit to my gp to figure out.
