It would be nice to know how much the tobacco companies paid the mayor of San Francisco for that bit of misinformed legislation,(Mayor puts a total ban on e cig products). Using outdated comments like, we are saving our kids from the horrors of nicotine, we don't know enough about the long term effects, etc, while totally ignoring the fact that smoking kills, vaping doesn't. I know that it is America but you would still expect a modicum of common sense, wouldn't you.

Common sense? Sure they legalised cannabis then went on to ban vaping. How's that for common sense?

I think we should be careful with our words though. There's isn't a 'total ban on vaping'. It's the sale of products that have been banned.

What it's really done has shut down vape shops.

It looks like JUUL are taking most of the blame for this again in the media. Altria who own Marlboro own 35% of that company, so .... I don't know. The tobacco industry would far rather own the vaping industry than destroy it imo. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes though?

It's a ban on supply of products not approved by the FDA, which is just about anything sold in US. No sales from shops, or from online vendors to SF addresses. Drive down the peninsula & fill up. No ban on vaping as long as your 21+.

Easy to just point your finger at the mayor. She didn't write the legislation or pass it. She just signed off on it. But she's only one piece of a much larger more disturbing picture in the good ol' US of A.

The hypocrisy is pretty mind numbingly disgusting tho. Protection from nicotine? So where's the protection from the hyper potent nicotine and the 4 thousands chemicals in fags? Where's the cigarette ban?

Fuck San Francisco. I'd pack my bags and move on pure principle even if I didn't vape. Pfft.

Sadly .. vaping idiocy aside .. San Francisco is a hard place to leave - one of my favourite places I've ever visited.
