After almost eleven months of vaping thought it was about time to take the plunge in mixing my own, I know a late developer I'm a shower not a grower :).

So I have all my stuff the POTV app on my Nexus so we are set to go but my questions is how to get correct amount of flavouring etc using drips mls etc. Now it seems to me that 20 drips from one instrument and 20 drips from another is a bit vague as surly the size of the nozzle hole will make a difference to the volume of the drip.!! . So using Mls could also be a problem as depending on what you are measuring then stuff is going to stick to the side walls and in the nozzle etc so you are going to lose some volume somewhere.

Am I being to anal ?
Tips please for measuring would be appreciated :)

Steve

drops per ml are going to depend on the type of dropper (size shape ect) that you use. take the plunger off of a needle with ml markings on it (put your finger over the bottom) and drip until you reach a ml counting the drops.

Write it down :P and note what bottle you were using.

stumpey - Steve, think about getting a couple of measuring cylinders. I use them for measuring the bulk fluid, and they are excellent for VG, which is a pain in the arse to draw up in a syringe. Terry leisureliquids has a nice selection (link below, apologies for the length but my tablet mucks me about when I try to post links!). I use them all the time, and they cut out a lot of mucking around. Hope this helps. :D

PS - if you slightly warm your VG, it flows a lot easier ;)

Thanks @Dexter great idea I have just bought one of each 10,25 and 50ml :)

The way this is going looks like I am going to need yet another box for my vaping stuff, the wife will be pleased .... not :)

Good advice in the two replies above. Personally I use syringes to keep measurements accurate and only use drops for very small test batches. For VG a 14g needle for small amounts and Bryan's Drawing Needle (both available at leisureliquids.com) are invaluable.

I tried working in drops and it was doing my head in. It's so much easier with a selection of syringes.

Thanks @Dirty Dog bought some drawing needles as well

You're welcome stumpey Another really handy aid to mixing, if you are using syringes, is 100ml brown plastic bottles with child-proof caps from the pharmacy section at Boots, they are great for storing Nic, PG and VG and are short and have wide openings so you're syringe can easily get to the bottom and they are only 50p each.

I too use syringes to measure,an old 5 ml syringe for the VG and 1 ml syringe for the rest. I've only had to warm the VG since I bought Boots last 2 bottles on their shelves, the previous VG was more free-flowing.

I've just started mixing and have discovered how difficult VG is to suck up into the syringe - will try warming it up as suggested in future and will invest in some of the mixing supplies mentioned. My bathroom is turning into a mini laboratory :)
