Mod/Battery - Recommendations

Thanks for the heads up MrDJ - I was just about to come back and ask advice on the batteries, if any are better than others and such! Thats a fantastic post, I'll stick with the advice and buy from those.

I like the sound of a mod that takes 2 x 21700 batteries, the VooPoo looks nice - I'll have a look through the recommended suppliers list and check out their mods, see what the options are for 21700 batteries

Theres a couple little problems with the X217 to bare in mind. The Temperature Control mode on it isn't very good and the watt readings are a bit off on it, think at 217watts it actually puts out 193watts or something like that for example. Also my friend picked one up and he had the superglue out on it within a fortnight so the build quality is a bit hit or miss on them.
Worth checking out reviews first, would also be worth checking out the Uwell Evdilo if you are interested in a dual 21700, probably the best of the bunch at the moment without spending a lot of money.

Ordered the 21700 batteries and charger from Fogstar, the Molicel P42A, and picked up spares and their funky looking little cases for storage.

Lots of warnings around these batteries and charging them - Are these things high risk or exploding? Or are these more generic coverage for companies?

Only a high risk if battery safety is ignored ! Treat them with the respect they deserve and you'll be fine

You’ll be using regulated mods, so the mods should protect you from most potential problems. They do have potentially volatile chemicals in them though, they’re not like your AA batteries. Never carry them loose in a pocket, for example, if they come into contact with something metallic, that could create a short, and you could find your trousers on fire - it happens. If you’re going to carry a spare set, always keep them in a case.

I did use Fogstar for the batteries - Their sale is still running through January it seems, so everything was at sale prices.

To be fair, little disappointing if I'm honest. Paid extra for the charger to come with a plug, which never arrived, and bought a 4 way charger (Xtar VC4)
that said it worked with 21700 batteries, but didn't mention that it's actually not wide enough to fit 4 x 21700 batteries, so it's effectively a 2 bay charger.

I'm going to need another 2 bay charger - Does anyone know if the Xtar VC2S fits the wider 21700 batteries? It states it does in their first message, but in the compatible sizes list, 21700 isn't listed. I don't want to pick up another one that's compatible, but not wide enough to actually use! LOL
(an Amazon review suggests it doesn't charge the 21700, despite saying it does)

On the plus side, delivery was fast, so I'm sure I can get another charger here quickly!

Quick email or message to fogstar they are active on here too should sort the plug for it, although I just use my samsung mobile phone usb charger

VC2 does list 21700 so I would deffo think the VC2S will, says comparable in the description but I think it's a typo on the description and they missed 21700 off the listing

Just checked xtar website and it lists 21700 on the VC2S
