I'm pretty new here, really in desperation to quit smoking and vaping really is helping. But with these lung issues popping up everyday, it does almost scares me back to cigs.

What's up with all this lung issues?

Edit: also warnings from health officials. Could they possibly be any more vague

Read them. It's illegal pod type systems loaded with THC & other drugs. People are buying these from back street dealers as one would with drugs anywhere & absolutely no control over contents.
Buy your ejuice from reputable sellers & to be doubly sure by 10ml juice as this will have had to be tested for banned substances.

It's been written off by the community as illegal or "black market" pods containing THC although, "At this time, there does not appear to be one product involved in all of the cases, although THC and cannabinoids use has been reported in many cases.", this suggests that this is not the case in all instances

EDIT: Perhaps staying away from all US products is the solution

Just ignore US news. It's scaremongering. Kids using drugs (who'd have thought it ;)) falling foul of unscrupulous people out to make a fast buck. Regardless of the obvious drug use it's the delivery system, ie ecigs, seen as the cause of the problem. As said previously, buy from reputable vendors.

Anyone know or heard of one of these cases outside of the US?
No although was reported use of juice comprising Spice, among other things, here in Manchester. This was rightly attributed to drug dealers finding other ways to supply illegal drugs. Spice use has been an issue for a long time & this was just another delivery system & vaping didn't get the blame. The US is a different ball game though. Big T & Pharma are just as likely to stoke the anti vaping fires, misseducate the populus & demonise vaping as it is hitting them in the bank balance.

The USA also has the issue of many states being set to lose billions due to selling tobacco bonds years ago on the assumption that the tobacco market would grow, not shrink.

Are any independant investigators investigating these cases as well? I don't necessarily mean pro-vaping investigators, just not corrupt government funded investigators. If you look at the instance with that kid Chance, he doesn't say whether or not there was any THC or CBD usage apparently he said he was vaping strictly mint. This is alarming. He should've been drug tested at least.

Plenty of info in the news section of the forum https://www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/news/vaping-news/2019-08-22_usa-lung-outbreak-commentaries.html . As quick as vaping gets blamed a debunk is supplied. Have a read through the news, this has been popping up on & off for a while now. If you think the US is bad look at the likes of India who are trying to ban vaping in favour of smoking.

Well, nobody is forcing you to carry on vaping.

I'm assuming you're an adult and you're free to make that choice for yourself.

Apparently, the reports say there have been about 250 hospitalisations in the US.

If that's scary, have a look at the tobacco stats that don't make the headlines...

480,000 confirmed smoking related deaths PER YEAR in the US (as a comparison).

7,000,000 smoking deaths per year worldwide.

That's one person every 4.5 seconds.

2-3 people have died from smoking related diseases in the time it's taken to read this post.

Way less scary than vaping eh?
