Mums call for ban after girls buy 'e-cigarettes' at Tamworth market

Apologies MrKraken. Bet you wouldn't sell 'em to 13 year olds though ;-)

According to the article they paid 12 quid for the kit. Thats pushing it a bit to get much profit from an evod, matching battery and charger.

Indeed I would not! depends on wether it's a genuine evod, where the battery and charger came from.....

think the mothers should be more concerned as t why there daughters are buying ecigs It is a criminal offence for any person to buy or attempt to buy alcohol for a person under the age of 18 years this is the same for cigarettes ecigs etc etc.. so maybe the law should be questioning the girls too as to why they were breaking the law.. might shut there mothers up then and keep them under control

Very clued up mummies aren't they? Very clued up to what ecigs aren't and the current tooing and froing. I wonder if they either work for, or are related to She Who Shall Not Be Named?

Personally, I'd ground the kids for buying something they shouldn't, and take up the matter with the trader concerned, in a no-mistake kind of way.

Straight away they blame not only the market trader but the whole e-cig world, instead of looking at themselves and taking responsibility of not knowing where their daughters were or what they were doing.

Like someone already said, we don't see massive headlines because a kid got drunk or because a kid bought a packet of fags or even drugs. It's not big news any more.
But e-cigs, again, are the bandwagon everyone wants to jump on.

What selfish mothers, wanting to ban e-cigs because their daughter's managed to get hold of some.

Do they also want alcohol banned then? ...because kids do get their mitts on that too! Alcohol can kill you but an e-cig is relatively harmless.
Where's the reasoning?

BTW, nice matching pink evod and battery, I have the very same one, good taste :D

one question that I need to clarify here. Yes most ecig websites have an 18 only restriction ( because they are selling liquids that contain nicotine) BUT is there actually been a law passed banning the sale of ecig mods ( such as the above mentioned evod) or an ego for instance IF there is no carto or liquid sold as part of the device. so basically just the non nicotine based hardware. because try as I might I cant actually find anywhere stating it as fact

There is no law, but as a nicotine contained product, it is regulated as an 'over 18's product'. The report is not clear at to wether any liquid has been bought too. So if it has not, then no law has been broken, but the industry is self regulated, and any decent vendor would not sell this to kids, especially considering what the EU tried to do.

I remember when I was a kid, if I wanted to try something, I would move heaven and earth to get it. I used to be proud of my porn collection hid under the bedroom carpet, but when my mother found them, I got a clip around the ear and had them confiscated.....that is where the problem really does lay, she didnt go storming into the shop and insist they were closed down.

To me parents that blame everyone else but 'dear little Johnny', are only kidding themselves at the end of the day, and really do need to look closer to home.

Seems like the story-making side of the media are employing work experience kids. This just screams fabricated.
Also, no juice on show, and 3.6? 3.6 made me think of volts or ml volume, not nic level.
