Here I was just sitting at home and my local msp James Kelly called me regarding the email and letter I had sent to him and we had a good chat about why it is Important that ecigs stay as they are with the exception of being sold to under 18's and he seemed really quite genuine and interested in the subject he was saying I can see this is an important issue to you and I told him about other vapers views and of course informed him of the upcoming tv show on itv in january and steered him to ecca and ecita websites, he seemed quite open and honest and i'm usually quite cynical when it comes to politicians. I think I shall make an appointment to see him and we can have a good yarn about why linda mcavan is trying to do what she is trying to do and why it is just wrong and not common sense.
I never thought any of them would actually get back to me.

Happy vaping days

Fantastic! Do it, make an appointment and follow up to see if he's looked into it at all since speaking to you!

Modesty forbids me to tell you what my MP called me.

Some of it was quite original.

I had two replies from two Scottish MEP's. One from Catherine Stihler - basically this was an obvious cut and paste job as it arrived about two minutes after I first wrote to her. Basically saying there is no proof that ecigs are a healthier alternative and they need regulating, and could be a gateway for youngsters to start smoking blah blah blah.

The second one wafom Gerge Lyon - More supportive but ke referring back to the previous vote earlier in the year with no reference to yesterdays shenanighans.

Both were replied to pointing out my own personal experiences and why I feel so strongly about the subject.

No responses back as yet. Both did admit it was an important issue.

ok i'll make an appointment for next week anything anyone wants me to put across strongly please do tell me and does anyone think I should take printed material with me?

I'd take all the printed material I could get my hands on. I'd even go as far as try and gather some testimonials from vapers on how it has affected their lives, like for myself going from chronic asthma and being unable to go down a flight of stairs without needing my inhaler to being asthma free and being able to play with my son outside.

Also make sure to point out we are still in a recession, and with ecigs becoming more and more popular, this opens opportunities for new businesses to open, many of which require staff, which gets more people into work and off benefits, all of which will slowly help the economy right itself long term. As soon as all the ecig companies have to close, that's loads of people out of work, some possibly in major debt from opening in shop to start with, and could lead to many claiming benefits while they find work elsewhere. (Politicians love to think about getting people off benefits ya know!)
