Nautilus Mini vs. Innokin Zenith D22

Hey all,

I've been visiting PotV for years but this is my first time posting. I hope I'm in the right section! Apologies in advance for the rather long post; I'm hoping you guys can help me arrive at a decision which has had me scratching my head for the last couple of days...

I'm just getting back into vaping after a few years away, and I'm trying to decide which MTL tank and mod to buy. I've been using a Uwell Caliburn for a few months quite happily, but I think I want something with a tighter draw and better battery capacity to use on a daily basis. More flavour would also be welcome, of course.

I've whittled it down to two quite different options: either the old Nautilus Mini, or Innokin's smaller version of the Zenith tank. Lots of people also seem to be recommending the Zlide and the newer Nautiluses (or... Nautili? :hmm:), but for whatever reason, these don't really appeal to me all that much, visually speaking. I'm ridiculously picky about these kind of things, and certain designs just don't do it for me...

I used to have the Naut Mini on an iStick 30w, and I loved it. To be honest, I'm leaning towards just getting this exact set-up again, but I'm aware that it's something like 6-7 years old now, and things have moved on a fair bit since then.

The Nautilus can be had for little over a tenner, and I've found somewhere selling the smaller version of the Zenith for £15 online. The Aspire BVC coils are still readily available, and I seem to remember them being pretty good all-round, but I've heard very good things about the Innokin Z coils, too. I get the impression that the Z coils are both longer lasting and provide more flavour than the BVCs...

So, its either going to be my tried-and-tested (but quite outdated) iStick + Naut Mini combo, or the Zenith and some small, preferably wattage-only box mod. It would be great if you guys could recommend some mods, too. I would prefer something which is VW/VV only, if possible, and under 50w-max. I'm a bit obsessive, and for reasons beyond my understanding, I really don't like the idea of putting a MTL tank which doesn't really get used beyond the 10-20w range on a 100w mod.

So, is the Nautilus a bit too long in the tooth these days, or still a safe bet? Is the performance boost on the Zenith likely to override the sentimental connection I have to my favourite vape set up? Would love to hear your thoughts!
:thankssign:

IMO the Nautilus Mini can still hold it's ground in the present day. The new Aspire 1.8 ohm NS coil is an improvement on previous coils. It has larger wick holes and works well with 50/50 juice. We will never all agree on which tank is the best out of the two I'm afraid.

I have the zenith, zenith d22, zlide, nautilus, naut2 and naut2s.
Zenith or d22 with the 1.6coil is the winner for me but I do like the look of the orig nautilus a lot.
I still use the nautilus because it isnt terrible, has the right airflow and looks cool, but the zenith coil longevity, easy coil removal while full and the top fill system just make the zeniths more reliable, for me.
I generally use rta's though, I much prefer them and in all regards.

either of your choices are good afaic

Thanks for your replies. Good to hear that the Mini still gets some love all these years after its release! Looks great with the replacement tank and the Easy mod, rew. If I decide to get the Nautilus I'll definitely be picking up the extra tank!

If you go for the Zlide or the Zenith you can get it as a kit with the Kroma R mod.

Zlide is better than the zenith22 imo,I have both.Only have the nautilus gt so can't comment on the mini.

Sorry to jump in on this thread.
Jumped back to vaping recently.
I had quite a few 5ml nautilus tanks and I currently have a cool fire IV plus battery.
It's still going strong and I get some good flavours and airflow and I'm happy.
My friend has the same tank but the original coolfire IV 40w battery.
He is after the same battery as me but can't find it online.
Is there anything battery wise similar to the coolfire iv plus with the wattage that fits the nautilus tank.

Thanks apologies again to the op for jumping into his thread

There is a new Coolfire mod coming out soon called the Z50. It has 2100 MAH battery with wattage and voltage modes.
