Hi guys,

I'm brand new to the forum (finally got around to signing up).

Need advice for getting into cloud chasing with TC. I'm using an istick TC40W with the eleaf recommended GS tank. Very happy with the mod, but the tank has quite a restricted airflow due to it only being on one side of the tank as opposed to
opposite sides.

Any tank recommendations that would be good for compatibility as well as good for cloud chasing and TC?

Hi and welcome to the Planet.

great mod but ive not used the tank so cant advise on that.
all i can say is ALWAYS make sure that the coil is a Ni200 or Ti titanium to be used in TC mode.

there has been a lot of confusion with new vapers that have be using standard wattage coils in TC mode which can be very bad for your health.

sadly you are limited to only 40watts and the best tanks imo dont get going until above 50watts and these are the crown and the cleito.

You think a mod upgrade is in order? I don't want to go crazy with the wattage or get into rebuildables, but I would like to be able to blow some decent clouds.

I was in a sparks e cigs store trying out their samples, and the clouds I could blow were great! Vaped for two years to get off of cigarettes using 60/40 liquids and only recently discovered the fun you can have with high Vg

im quite happy at 50watts on my crown, cleito and tfv4
most have 70/30 mix with various flavors and they all give of big clouds.
the coils in all of them are rated much higher but im quite happy at 50 and it makes the coils last quite a bit longer.

theres plenty of 100w TC mods out there or you could get the new 200w 3 battery istick200 from dna vapes for £39.99
or theres also the RX200 for £39.99 but you will also need an external charger for this one.

check out some of the suppliers at the bottom of my first post in link below.

Thanks for the help! I'll have a look

@Razzmond it's worth buying the gs air coil in Ti or Ni before you get a new tank and mod just to try something that isn't everyone's tastes!
I use TC almost exclusively but it took some fiddling to get used to it, and I started on an istick tc40 too.

I've used the GS Ni coils and nothing else so far, it's just the airflow feels a little too restricted and I'm drawing a little too hard on it to get a decent sized cloud. What do you use now?

Don't get me wrong it's a great mod. I bought it after my wismec press VV gave up the ghost.

If big clouds are your goal, high wattage capable tanks are what you want, but TC is not about high wattage and maximum clouds. Your power is throttled back by the mod as you vape to maintain a consistent coil temperature. To maintain high power and get huge clouds, you'd be better with sub-ohm builds for power mode.

You can still get substantial clouds with TC in an airy dual coil tank though (e.g. the Steamcrave Armomaizer RDTA series).

Are you looking for rebuildables or tanks with stock coils?

Welcome to the forum. For a non rebuild-able the TFV4 is hard to beat for clouds but you will need to up grade you mod and have shares in a juice company, or mix your own juice!! A RX200 is a great mod for the money, good power and I find the TC to work well. The TFV4 has plenty of different coils available so you should find one that suits you, also has RBA decks available should you ever get the building bug, not the best decks but a starting point, I have the single and dual coil decks and have gone back to the quad coils although these days I mainly use my Griffin tank, as you've joined I'm sure you be on to rebuild-ables soon!!!

To be honest, I'll probably stick with stock coils. What about the kangertech topbox? Any views on that as a mod?
