It might seem strange for a non smoker to be on this forum but I joined to try and help my son to quit smoking

He is an asthma sufferer but stubbornly refuses to quit smoking, he has however tried these vaping devices and would have carried on doing so if they hadn't been cheap and badly manufactured to the point that the battery leads keep getting twisted off!!!

Could someone recommend a device with better construction?

It would be mainly used 'at home' so appearance isn't so important but a better system for recharging is a must!!

looking forward to your replies

Ian

Hey Ian,

Think most of us have bought a crappy device. Hell one of the members here had one and the internal wiring was attached to the battery using rusty nails!!!!

Well anyone a good device for a vape and go would be this.

Mini Protank 2 Kit SS - Starter Kits

This vendor is highly recommended and his quality control is top knotch as many vendors you'll find here.

He may not quit altogether at first but aslong as he cuts down it'll help.

If you need anything just give a shout anyone here will be happy to help

Hello Ian. Welcome to the Planet mate, and a big well done on helping your son switch over. :D I can't be much help on the starter stuff, as an ego was cutting edge technology when I switched up to other stuff!

What I will say is that when I switched to vaping full time I stopped using my two inhalers overnight and haven't used one in two and a half years. Obviously, breathing nothing but air is best - but from my personal experience, vaping is better than smoking by a long long mile. :D

Welcome to the planet :) There are plenty of good vendors with good quality kit out there, a good rule of thumb appears to be avoiding eBay and market stalls and instead buying direct from UK based online vendors. If you read through the posts you will find an unusually high customer service standard is clearly the norm for most of them.

Not had one of these but they've been highly recommended by long-term vapers as giving a great vape.

The problem people switching to vaping have is the poor quality of juice/equipment they might go for. Plus, having back ups to your back-ups in case something goes wrong and they're tempted back onto the smokes.

Make sure that he knows the correct way to charge the batteries, avoid 'cheap' because cutting corners just leads to inferior products and have a range of juice for when one gets dull.

And don't worry about firing questions, someone here will know the answer :)

From a starter kit point of view, make sure your son has two batteries! One in use and one charged ready to go. Nothing worse than having to wait impatiently for your only battery to charge :(

Great recommendations above :D

Great forum

Very impressed so far with the help and suggestions, keep them coming

Or a pass-thru battery allowing him to use it whilst charging

Congrats on trying to get your son off the nasties. I myself got my 2-3 pack a day for 30 years sister off them and vaping. It's been one of my best achievements.
