What's new

New Covid strain spreading across the UK that's less likely to cause symptoms

the thing is a load of shit. look at level 3. “gradual relaxing of restrictions”. so that must be the case if we’re going up levels or down them. cretins. they must have had a yoppie in that week. :)
They really haven't got a scooby mate. They've proven it time n time again since this whole thing started. They put all their eggs in the vaccine basket and all the rest is just reactionary, and as always, too little too late.

Difficult task tho, trying to weigh and balance everything.

Easier just to keep things nice n simple as you can't be disappointed with any outcome, but plenty of room for nice surprise, so.... we're doomed. grim.gif

Untrained hairy assed builders jabbing people :17:

i hate “jab”. here in scotland we say “jag”. i think jagged is a much more appropriate word.

however, with all of the talk of “jabbed” on the news coverage and suchlike, i’ve been noticing people here saying it more and more.

anyway, there’ll no be any hairy arsed builder jaggin me, i’ll tell ye that for certain. :)

Maybe BJ and his merry crooks should lead by example and learn to give out the vax
themselves and have them working over xmas.

I'm sure forcing the last few stragglers will fix everything.

no, i don’t think so either. the situation is not really looking very good, i don’t think. if restrictions are introduced nobody will follow them anyway because trust and confidence in the government is almost entirely fucked. putting that aside, for the whole period the rules have been so complex and contained so many ambiguities that most of us took to just establishing our own rules and operating within that. somebody i know that i trust to know about this stuff was telling me he’s heard the off the record plan is for a five week lockdown in scotland in january. they probably fear cancelling xmas again will destroy their credibility and lose public trust and confidence, but also know that xmas festivities in the current circumstances are madness. up here they’ve not banned work xmas parties, but advised people not to have them. what does that even mean? how are people supposed to, and how will they, react to it? it’s madness.

sorry, this thread started so optimistically as well. :D

What does it mean?

In Scotland... roughly translated - We don't want you to do it, but we're not going to try and stop you.

In England... roughly translated - We don't want you to do it, but we're going to do it ourselves, so... meh.
