come on, they’ve just announced today there are numerous people in hospital and at least one has died already, and it’s no even started it’s rampage.

Two things listening to all of this now is apparant.

Everyone getting 2 vaccines were a waste of time because they all suddenly stopped working until you get your third. Like buying dlc for a game , don't get your antibodies back until you get it.

We are pretty much ignoring an entire country worth of doctors, scientists and virologists and just saying fuck it, we have decided it's worse and therefore will keep making out its covidplus, the worst one yet.

50 million vaccinated, 20 million boosted and 120 million and counting needles in arms has to count for something. All those antibodies , both artificial and natural have to give us protection from a variant that we keep getting told is milder, well being told by everyone except our own government.

Nothing wrong with taking precautions during the winter, should have been put in place on July 19th to begin 1st December. Just don't outright mislead the entire country by telling us the boogyman is coming when it's clearly not true.

i think you are missing some important points. the main ones are, that the demographic in the part of south africa in question is very different from here, it’s summer there, and it is 4 times more transmissible. it isn’t very clear if the bogeyman is coming but i think it might be. imo it’s better to be cautious.

....... it's also worth remembering that the first two vaccines still give decent protection against sickness and death, it's infection rates the booster is being looked to give us some better control over?

It's long been said that the vaccinated could still get infected. It's why I thought the vaccine passport idea was ridiculous?
