New MOD Advice

Are you after a new mod or a new tank? Sounds like you're talking about a new tank.

I wouldn't be too scared of sub ohm. I moved from a nautilus mini to a subtank using a 0.5ohm coil, the step up in flavour was enormous and the increase in juice wasn't as horrific as I imagined.

It did take its toll on my mods battery life though, so I ended up upgrading my mod.

But there is a huge difference between a 0.5ohm coil and a 0.15ohm coil.

Which mod did you go for? I’m really struggling, there is TOO MUCH choice.

Well that was a good few years ago now! There really is an overwhelming number of options. Read my long post on picking a mod, and basically narrow it down by:

Inbuilt battery or external battery
If external battery, single or dual?

The rest really comes down to aesthetics and fancy settings, which you probably don't need to worry about just yet!

Wow thanks for all the info!

I think I will be using inbuilt battery at the moment, I have the latest Innokin Cool Fire, easily lasts me around 3 days although I would expect that to change if I drop the ohms..

Definitely feel like I have much better understanding now!

I do tend to stick to Darth Vapour flavour so do I need to watch what tank go to for regarding the mix or something?

They are precisely the questions I’m agonising about! I’ve ordered the Vaporesso Cascade after spending hours/days weighing up sub ohm tanks. This one seems good and more importantly largely idiot proof. Now I’m spending time existentially asking myself inbuilt or external battery questions!

Lol I did the same when I was about to move on to external batteries, but I did some research and never looked back!

If you move on to external batteries you need a charger. Xtar mc2 is a cheap 2bay charger with all the built in safety you need as a starting place. Or anything from fogstar.co.uk

Most mods use 18650 batteries these days (18650 is the dimensions). I'll not write an essay on batteries, go to fogstar.co.uk and get an 18650 with at least 20A from there, I like the LG HG2 personally.

If you are getting a spare to carry out and about, I can't stress this enough, BUY A BATTERY CONDOM or a case, do NOT carry these loose in your bag or pocket.

Then you can pick yourself a nice external battery mod. I like single battery ones for out and about, and dual battery ones for at home. Pick one you think looks nice (it mostly comes down to aesthetics) and watch some YouTube reviews about it.

I'm skipping over a lot of info for the sake of not overwhelming you. But this is a good place to start :-)

That’s dead helpful advice. Thanks very much! I’ll definitely have a look at the fogstar site. I’m leaning towards external but then some of the mods I like are inbuilt! I’ll go and lie in a dark room for a bit

Lol yup, the brain will boggle, it's part of the fun though! I tend to give myself a few days mulling it over before I hit the buy button!

A few days?? I’ve been at it for a few weeks :11:

Basically, I like my aspire but I’m looking a) for a second mod and use the aspire as back up and b) seeking more flavour, hence the sub ohm.

The choice, and the opinions, are fun but also a bit mind boggling!

Well I got a few years head start on you to know what I like and what I don't like, so I don't get the itch quite so much anymore, and when I do, I generally know where that item will fit in my collection, if that makes sense!

We can all fire out suggestions at you, but everyone's opinion is very different and in most cases there isn't a "wrong" answer. What suits someone won't suit another. So don't be too overwhelmed by the vast array of opinions offered here. Best thing is to find something you like the look of and as here if anyone owns one and what they think of it.
