Hi first post on this site and first a very big thank you to all involved behind the scenes of this site.

Sorry if this turns out to be a long post i am new to the vaping world and want to make sure I’m doing things the right way.

I’m nearly a week into vaping now. I have a aspire zelos 3 and I’m on 12mg of nicotine.

Purchased from a shop and the liquid brand they had was hangsen? I know nothing about brands weather this is a good brand or not? Going forward I would like to try fruit flavours as currently vaping hangsen tobacco flavour what the shop supplied.

Anybody know of any good liquid brands? And also what aspire coil would be best for 70pg flavour liquid? As so many different aspire coils I don’t know which one I should be using? I’m vaping at the moment on 25 watts with the out of the box coil that was supplied with the vape.

On to my last question how often do I need to clean the vape? And can all parts be cleaned apart from the charger of coarse. And the best way of doing so. And what is the best way to prime a new coil also as have heard this is a vital part of the process.

Thanks if anyone had time to read this just completely new to the vaping world.

Hi @Vaping on the dole and welcome to the planet.

congratz on your first week of being cig free.
sounds like the kit and the nicotine strength is a good starting point.
Hangsen has been around for ages but i had no idea they were 70pg so just had to double check.
the pg gives the throat hit and the vg gives the clouds.
high pg makes the juice a lot runnier so if you start getting leaking id suggest changing to a 50/50 ratio which is the norm for mouth to lung vaping.
ive not tried any of the zelos kits so off to have a quick google https://www.aspirecig.com/aspire-kits/zelos-3.html

so i started 7 years ago with exactly the same coils but back then 1.8ohm and 1.6ohm (10-14watts) were the only ones available. both these are best with 50vg/50pg but will work fine with the juice you have. these coils are best below 14watts.
the 0.7ohm coil can handle 70vg juice at slightly higher wattage 17-25watts i think. this will give bigger clouds and plenty of flavour but maybe be a bit too strong using 12mg nic. i think best with 3-6mg nic.
but if your vaping at 25watts and its not making you cough then keep going.
it doesnt show on the above link which coil is pre installed but as your hitting 25watts i guess it will be the 0.7 coil. when you put the other one in thats a 1.8 coil so remember to turn the wattage down below 14w.

when my coil dies i just rinse the whole tank out with warm water. cant be doing anything wrong as a couple of the tanks are 7 years old and look and taste as good as new.

onto juice. jeez, where do i start.
well this is worth bookmarking for future reference POTV Vendors & Recommended E Liquid Suppliers

you wont find any 70pg on many of these sites. the majority will be 70vg and in shortfills. 50ml juice with enough space for a single 18mg nic shot but this will only make the strength 3mg so maybe leave these for a few weeks while you stick to 12mg for now. manabush do 10ml bottles in 3,6,12,18mg. they also do some decent fruit infused flavours as well.
but for fruits and backy these sure are worth a looksy all found on post 1 of my link.
prime vapes
cotswold vapour
manbush
vape potions

good luck with your vaping journey and never be afraid to ask questions even if you think they are silly or stupid as they usually are not.

I didn't know 70pg existed. Nice looking kit you have there. Well done in making the switch, you won't regret it. Just be kind to yourself as we all fall off but getting back on is what it's about. What made you switch? Had you tried vaping before? I tried many times but mostly to cut down then finally made the switch.

Hi thanks for taking the time to comment. I forgot to say i am in the uk. I have been looking on vape kit uk im not sure if this is a genuine site or not. But there hangsen liquid in description says 70pg/30vg. I know nothing about any of these numbers so probably have got it totally all wrong sorry if I have. It’s what there site has stated on the hangsen liquids.

I decide to stop as I’m 35 now and had been smoking for 20 years and want to kick the habit. So thought might be worth giving the vape a go. I have never vaped before no.

Im on 12mg as the shop I went to advised me to go for that strength as I was smoking between 10 to 15 roll ups a day. So said that would be the strength to start on. I aim to obviously go lower on the nicotine level but as this is the start of my vape journey I do not know how quick I should go lower or when to go lower or the best ways of going lower on the nicotine level.

Once again thanks for your kind help.

Manbush I thought @ZT had a Brazilian :54::54::54:

i spelt it correct the first time. morphine induced so lucky i can type at all.

as i mentioned above i had to go and check and yes it is 70pg

E-liquid is generally made with only 3 ingredients or 4 when it contains nicotine. VG is thick and gives great vapour production, PG is thin and gives good flavour plus before mentioned throat hit. Then you have the flavour. The coils you are using on your kit require thinner liquid to run without getting dry hits. 50/50 is what most would use. I started with NIC salts. It's a different kind of nicotine that isn't as harsh and you can get that in 20mg and lower amounts, 20mg would give you the boost to reduce cravings but if you are fine with what strength you are using now, no need to change. Hope that explains the numbers.

Thanks for taking time out of your day to responded to me.

Forgot to mention I’m in the uk. And I have looked on vape kit uk website I’m not sure if this is a genuine site or not.

Im getting the 70pg/30vg from the hangsen liquids that they have on there website maybe that clears the numbers up but have no idea about these numbers.

I was advised to start on 12mg by the shop as I was smoking between 10 to 15 roll ups a day so he said that would be the starting point for me.

I guess it is the o.7 coil yes. I did vape it on 10 watts which the shop guy put it on but I didn’t feel nothing from it if you get what I mean.

So slightly upped it and got to 25 watts which didn’t make me cough it gave me a much better satisfying vape. Maybe im doing this all wrong and going forward I should not be vaping at that rate of watts or starting vaping at these watts.

I will look into the coil recommendations you suggested thanks a lot as didn’t want to be using the wrong coil with the wrong liquid.

Also how do I know when to change the coil? I have had mine in nearly a week now and have not noticed any difference in taste etc. And also when filling how far to go up on the tank to as has no lines or anything to know? Do I fill
It right to the top or leave room at the top?

I have been vaping a week tomorrow and still have quarter of a 10ml bottle left so feel like I’m not doing to bad or maybe I am I dunno.

Once again thanks for your kind help.

12mg I seem to be getting on fine with as have not had the urge or cravings or anything as of yet. So think are stick with it.

Thanks it has cleared things up abit better. I shall look into the 50/50 that you mentioned as might be better than the 70pg for me.
