Newbie tongue issues

If its the 1.2ohm quartz coil in the link 25w is very high.

'The mouth to lung coils are available in a 1.2ohm Quartz option for 12 watts of power to give you crisp flavour and a 1.0ohm standard coil for 14 watts and a balance of vapour and flavour. The Sub Ohm options are a 0.4ohm Mesh for 25 watts and crisp flavour or the 0.6ohm Triple coil for a fast ramp up and plenty of vapour to be used at 25 watts.'

I have never come across quartz coils before and no idea if some can get bad reaction
No it's the 0.6 coil I have

Personally, i would ditch smok.

There are much better kits, check out the review section. Maybe try some premade nic salts like Dr Vapes, Manabush, pod salts, juice head.
I highly recommend a pod kit to start u off like a Aspire Favostix or Vaporesso Xros 2

Thats my main area and what i Personally suggest. Others may say very different

I am suffering spitback from the vape, is that a problem with the smok, or the coil?
could well be that then as i suggested above.
smok are not great.
the makes ive got most of is vapresso and geekvape who both do decent kits but theres so many to chose from.

Personally i wouldnt get it as pnp coils can be a bit leaky.

But i will leave u to it. There are many people on here that can help. Maybe try posting in another section too as some people may not see this thread

As i said i would stick to a pod, something easy initially and not too costly till u know what suits you.

@ForestMagpie @Vapaneezer Scrooge @red5

The above are all reviewers, maybe they can help

I dont know if anyone answered his original question,

But there r only two other things i personally can think of, or maybe i didnt read xlose enough and u already figured it out

1. the spitback is hitting u so hot it is burning your tungue, same as a hot cup of coffee, or maybe just the whole vape cloud...your mouth and lungs will all be desensitized from smoking, so u might not notice 'too hot'
Or maybe it is an actual for real allergy

might be worth stopping in real quick just to let a doc give u his opinion just so u know what not to do in the future.

those 2 issues, as well as others) wont necessarily be resolved by switching equipment or even juice if u dont know what in the juice is causing it, and for some people, vaping is simply not an option unfortunately

Old Samwich brain says too hot, tongue too close to drip tip , too high pg oh and the most important part make sure you’re drinking enough water x I don’t know the science but sip water often during dayX

@NWVapeBoy I get this from nichrome coils and I think it's down to a potential nickel allergy in my case. Nic salts also set me off with the same issue.

1. Use something with kanthal coils (aka KA1 and FeCrAl) stainless steel is also out before someone suggests this as it also contains nickel!

Unfortunately smok don't publish coil material so the only way you'll know with the rpm coils is to pull one apart and see if the coil is magnetic... If it is it's kanthal otherwise it's likely SS or Ni80 which both contain nickel.

2. Cut out the nic salts if that's what you're using.

I should note it took me 3 years to figure this out.

Re: voopoo... Some of their PNP coils are KA1 and others are Ni80...

0.2 non magnetic - ni80?
0.3 magnetic - KA1
