hi all it seems that its going to be hard to buy bulk nicotine soon as for reasons we all know now at some point i will want to make my own juice but not just yet so want some to put in the freezer for the time im ready but im confused as to witch one to buy do most people buy the vg based or the pg based from reading it seems most people get vg based but wanted to make sure before i ordered i will use darkstar when i order cheers all for you input

thanks just a quick one just for arguments sake if you use one flavour at 20% say apple and you wanted to use 2 flavours apple and pair would you use 10% of each
I usually mix at 80/20 so my nic is always VG. Just makes things simpler.

It's trial and error mate really but basically , no.
If you want apple and pear. ... 15% apple and 5% pear
Or
If you want pear and apple. .... 15% pear and 5% apple.
This is just a starting point though. You will need to adjust to your taste.

About your original post.
I use pg nic and mix 70/30 easily but it also depends how much flavouring you use.

Have a read through the forum, mixology - guide to flavouring.

Worth the read, just to help get a better understanding and helps prevent wasting juice on dodgy diy attempts!

ok cheers for that it makes sense to thats something to look into at a later stage :) i just worry about getting some nic for now

About the nic - I use PG based nic, PG flavourings and all the rest is VG or AG, my mixes always come out at least 70/30 VG/PG and usually higher. Dunno why I went for PG based over VG based tho coz I like high VG juices, but with hindsight PG based makes the stuff easier to handle and I reckon you gotta have a bit of PG in there to carry the flavours :)

I'm in the same boat as you @kamido
I'm not doing DIY right now but want to in the future so will stock up some nic base, but couldn't decide whether to go for VG or PG.
I had a play around with http://e-liquid-recipes.com/create and there are limits to the VG ratio you can get when using PG nic.
For example, for a 12mg nic juice with 20% flavour the highest VG you can get is 63%.
For a 6mg nic juice with 20% flavour the highest VG possible is 71%.
I'm probably going to get VG nic base. I don't believe there are any long term differences in storage in the feezer between the two, especially if you buy quality base from the likes of @DarkStar

You're probs right, I failed to factor in that I mix at 3mg nic when I posted my own thoughts. I guess that as long as there are no differences in long term storage between the two then the VG base would give you the most versatility :)
