Hey everyone,
Been vaping for about a year now but gave up the cancer sticks at the beginning of the year. Mainly because of the grief I was getting from the kids. Took a while but I was a heavy smoker for 20+years. Started with a little mtl starter kit my didn't get on, pretty much went straight to sub ohm. Recently got a mech. Joined you guys so any questions I may have I got people to ask. My mech was a xmas pressie but think it's a clone Jus doesn't hit as hard as I thought it would. The firing pin isn't the same as the reviews I've seen, it's silver and not copper or brass. Having said that someone on hear already said try cleaning the threads as I still haven't. My build is .12 using a Sony vtc5. Thoughts anyone?

Welcome to the planet.

0.12 is abit low for what I'm guessing is a single battery tube mech. The VTC5 is rated for 20amps.. At 0.12 you are pulling 35amps, 75% over what battery experts say is safe. That's abit too much if you ask me.

Take a look at the VTC5A instead as this is a 25amp battery. I'd suggest building higher resistance aswell but as 147W and 35amps isn't doing it for you, only suggestion is move onto a regulated device to be safe.

Hello @Graeme82 , Nice to meet you mate !!!

Welcome aboard the Planet @Graeme82 - it is great place to find all the answers we need. I'm very new to vaping too, there's no point in struggling alone when someone here has almost certainly 'been there and done that'.

Well done on kicking the stinkies, my home now smells nice instead of ... well a bit stinky :D
